Hi guys. I am selling my 2001 Ferrari 360 to fund a business deal. It's Rosso Corsa over Nero with red stitching. I was planning to list it on Bring a Trailer, but after I submitted my application, they came back and said it would be 4 weeks for them to put the ad together which put me off a little bit because a lot can change in a month and I'd like to have my money out of it sooner than that if possible. After some looking, I can't even FIND a comparable car for sale (Rosso Corsa, Spider Stick shift) in the usual places. I'm thinking it might be a feeding frenzy on BaT as it's a Rosso Corsa, factory gated Spider, but the wait time to get it listed is a major drawback. Thinking about listing it here and on Autotrader for a week to see what kind of interest I get, but struggling with how to price it. What do you guys think? I'm not interested in hiring a broker.......

Look for the closest comparable car to yours currently on the market. If yours is better then all the others available with comparable milage and service history, tak on a 5k premium and list it. See what happens.

I've always had excellent results using Cargurus or Autotrader. I suggest getting started there and add your name to the waiting list for BAT.

Take 1 month with a grain of salt...Unless you're a volume dealer and have it so they'll get you live in 5 days or less, I've realized 40 days is the standard, from submission, acceptance, to a go live day.

So not that different from all other “collector”/“specialty”car auctions were high volume (dealer) associates get much better treatment (including “reserves”, etc.) than an average Joe or wannabe speculator hoping to unload a car he was guaranteed to lose money on the day he bought it, at another auction ?

+1 you'll be extremely lucky to sell this car within 4 weeks and/or BAT is quoting to get it listed. Not saying it couldn't happen but in the Ferrari world things move slow. Buyers want PPI, tons of tire kickers, price negotiation, end of summer. It could happen but BAT is hot right now., doubt you can do better or sell it before then anyway. Good luck

Wow, I thought 4 weeks was bad. If they're doing that well, you would think they would hire more staff. I like their format. Someone mentioned Cars and Bids. I like Doug Demuro, but it looks like they haven't put up very good numbers for 360's in the past, so I was hesitant to list there. Thanks for the replies!

I have sold 4-5 on Cars and Bids. I do not feel they have the volume of well strapped buyers - yet- maybe someday soon, but most of my auctions have underperformed vs what the potential (obviously a "feeling") could've done on BaT.

Sure, but those happen once a Q, so the build up is larger...but yeah, most certainly the little guy gets squeezed if you're selling a 230SL vs a 300SL (bad example, but you get the gist).

I have seen '1600Veloce' buy a car on ACV (dealer auction website) on Wednesday, and have it detailed, brakes/tires, and LIVE on BaT the following Wednesday...But hey, life isn't fair. He also doesn't pay fees. (his words, not mine).

Well, you're one to two months too EARLY for me. That's the EXACT car i will be buying. Exact. I want Nero interior too. Damnit....I'd be a buyer in a month or two if you still have.....Keep me in mind....Don't need my wife's permission. Don't need a loan....BAT is hot, but the prices are cooling a little i am seeing. The 430's are doing much better than the 360's - gated to gated comparison. Dealer's will low ball you and flip it as they will wait it out to get on BAT or move it to a collector. Us in the US sense inflation coming and some are puckering their wallets...Just my two cents. I will be MAD at you if you post pics of your car here. LOL. Just kidding...GLWS....PM me if you would like...ARA
