Hello to everyone who does not know me. My name is Terrance and I am studying pre-law at U of D Mercy. I have been living in Michigan all my life but have only encountered 7 Ferraris driving in Michigan. Luckily, 3 days ago a very kind ferrari owner let me sit in his beautiful 328 gts. It had plenty of room and the car seemed to beg me to drive it. On a more relivant note, where is the best place to spot ferrari owners driving the cars? I occasionally see the workers at Cauley Ferrari start one of the cars they are working on but the expereince always leaves me wishing I could actually hear the beast on the road. So is there a place where ferrari owners love to drive at or a track that they can be seen driving on, or should I just hop on the next flight to Palm Beach Florida?

    regards, Terrance

Birmingham on a friday or saturday night, or Somerset Mall during the day. Just tonight I saw: 2 Bentley Continental GTs, 1 Flying Spur, 1 Arnage, a few M5's, an Aston Martin DB9 Spyder, a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, and a Ferrari 308, and saturday nights are usually much better! 2 weeks ago at Somerset I saw an Enzo, and in the past few months I've seen numerous F430s, 360s, and Lamborghini's there, too.

I'm in a small redneck town (pop. 12,000) in southern michigan but every chance I get...I drive my Testarossa around. But your right about these cars being hard to spot. There are several other Ferraris within 25 miles of me but I never see them out and about. I make it a point to get the ol'e girl out and rub elbows with the musclecar guys, the import guys, and who ever else just loves cars. I'm very proud to let the world see what a Ferrari is like, even and old one like mine. So much went into designing and making these cars, it's a shame to keep them locked up.

There is even a Diablo SV or two around metro Detroit.

Just thursday, I saw a 360 and Gallardo Spyder in orange without trying... not to mention 6 other ferraris... but thats another story. There are a lot in Michigan... but it is rare that they venture into Downtown... once I saw an F40 coming from d-town on Jefferson near Belle Isle.... but that was quite some time ago.

Jeff, I don't know if I told you, but I made a stop in your "hicktown" a few weeks ago, must've been just before some big muscle car/classic car meet... cars were coming from all directions on the highway to Coldwater... I wish i would've had more time to see what was going on, and drop by and say hi.

Isn't that the dealer in Troy? I passed a guy driving it back and forth the other day on Maplelawn. Was it in for service or is it for sale?

Drive around the Birmingham/Troy area you will see Ferraris, Porsches, Bentleys, Ford GT's, Just about everything exotic. They dont all come out at once, but they pop up all the time as long at the weather is nice. Pulled up behind a screaming orange Gallardo at the stoplight at Coolidge and Maple the other night.

    So they are around.

The car was there for a major engine service that took a little over 3 months. The service tech I was talked to gave me the impression that engine blew up. I went to the dealer 2 weeks ago to see this beast sitting there looking intimidating as the devil himself.

The VT Had an exhaust system that was just deafening. I have heard Enzos, f430s, and even murcielagos, but the sound of coming from that VT made everything else seem tame at best.
