Sitting here watching the Cardinal game, the more and more I think about it, IMO you'd be hard pressed to find a better all around player then Yadier Molina. His only fault is his speed - but other than that, he is the BEST defensive catcher in the league, and given his numbers this year, he is probably one of the top 2 or 3 offensive catchers as well.

The only rule for this thread is nobody is allowed to mention anyone in the Angels system that wears the number 5. :)

I think you're going to get biased results.

At the moment, I think I agree. (and obviously, I'm not a Rangers fan)

He was the only other player that crossed my mind when I started this thread. He is without a doubt the best offensive player in the game right now, but his fielding needs some work, IMO.

Josh Hamilton, obviously. Otherwise, Matt Kemp. We're talking 2012.

Josh Hamilton, hands down. 21 homers, 57 RBI's, and a .368 average. And it's just the end of May! Matt Kemp is also good, but he's back on the DL after 2 games.

I'll also mention our 2B Ian Kinsler. I think he is a good all-around player. Great fielding, great speed on the bases, and can get on base easily. He can also go yard. He had a 30/30 season last year with homers (32) and stolen bases (30). His 32 homers tied him with Adrian Beltre for the team lead. The only other player to hit 30 homers was Mike Napoli.

Not the best right now, but he's a great all-around player.

    Joey Votto.

    No question.

In THREE YEARS he has only pulled one ball foul in an at bat. Only one in over 1400 at bats. He is the best hitter, maybe to be the best hitter in the history of the game.

This stat alone demonstrates his ability. Pulled one foul ball in three years. Amazing.
