Who has the best price on hyperflow cats? I see a lot of you guys saying really good things about them. Do they really change the way the car sounds. I was thinking about buying a new exhaust system for the sound. Would I be better off buying these cats instead? Would they make the car sound as good as buying Stebro or Tubi? What about my old factory cats, would they be worth anything if I tried to sell them? My car is a 1988 328 with 30,000 miles on them. I guess the factory cats still have a lot of life left. Thanks for the replies.

Hyperflow dealers follow a very strict MSRP only pricing. We are not allowed to discount them below retail.

These cats alone won't ever achieve the sound of most aftermarket exhaust systems. If you're looking for extra power, the cats will provide much more than an aftermarket exhaust on more model Ferrari's. Most of MVP's customers do both the exhaust and cats.

As far as your stock catalytic converters, I don't know how much you can get out of them but try ebay and see. You may be able to get a decent amount.

    Sherpa23,

Just read your thread on selling a new exhaust system. Is it still available? I have an '89 Mondial-t coupe. Would this fit? Let me know.

Also I do some work on my Alfas but more complex stuff I take to Ferrari of Denver. Great guys and outstanding mechanics.

    Hank,

Can you feel the extra power with the hyperflows? Do they estimate what increase if any in HP is achieved?

The only mod in my T is the "hyperchips" which were installed upon purchase. Since I have never driven mine without them I am just used to the extra 30 hp they provide. My car feels pretty fast, but I always keep my eyes open for and extra HP out there...

    Hope you are enjoying Rachel...

    Hi David,

Now you got this really fast horse - see? And he has a cork stuck in his a$$ (catalic convertor). He walks when you ask - - he trots when you ask and he canters - - blah, blah and blah. Essentially, he functions. But now, we make the upgrade that has no downside. Pull the factory cats and install the Hyperflows - WHOA BABY!!!, the cork is removed and we can feel the pull of that lovely 3.4. It feels FREE - and the sound is this deep, throbbing presence (not a fart). It's not irritating or dominating - - For me, it's just right. But hey, what do I know:)

    Cheers, Hank

    Hank,

    Great analogy!

It makes sense. I think since my horse is already on steroids since she pulls pretty hard w/ the hyperchips. I think the hypercats might just be the right combination to top it off.

After I have the mondi out for the day, I then drive my regular car...well lets just say my regular car feels about as powerful as a golf cart after driving the Ferrari!

Next time I see our local ferrari "guru" up here I will ask him as well. If he gives me the thumbs up...I will go cat shopping.

I took my 8 year old out for a ride on Thursday...after 5 minutes she looked over at me and remarked "now this is a sports car".

I can say with 7 years of first hand experience, you cannot hear or feel a difference between a hyperflow or a test pipe. You CAN smell a BIG difference.

You will love the hyperflow if you have used the test pipe.

    Steve,
Unfortunately, I don't have a full exhaust system, only a HyperFlow cat, which replaces the restrictive, heavier, etc. stock cat. It would work if you had a 3.2 engine but the Mondial T has the tranversely mounted 3.4. I don't know for sure but 1) I don't think that this cat would fit and 2) I think that you need 2 for the 3.4. Someone tell me if I am wrong about that.

And, FWIW, I bought this cat fram Daniel at Ricambi. I ended up never using it so I figured that I would just offer it on here. Daniel is a great guy and I like dealing with him a lot.

Yes, you need 2 cats for the t (348) drivetrain.

3.2 cat will not fit a Mondi T.

Oops, I meant longtitudinally mounted, not tranversely mounted.
