Who has the best prices for a set of new "factory stock" Koni shocks for an 84 QV?

can't say they are the cheapest, but Tire Rack has them for $331
    that's a little more than I paid back in 2016 ($1K)
they have been known to have a 10% sale every so often.
    Just not now :(

Are the Konis rebuildable? If you have the originals on your car, it may be a cheaper solution worth looking into.

Call GT Car parts in AZ, they rebuild them, with that being said, I dont think Tire Rack sells Konis for any 3x8, I paid 800.00 8 years ago for 2 new rears from Ferrari , through Ferr Parts, then 3 years ago I bought a set of fronts from Ferr Parts, from Ferrari for 1300.00. Then I finally had the entire suspension rebuilt, so I dont think tire rack is a source for the OEM shocks. Once in a while Ferrari releases OEM new old stock, and has them listed , for 3x8s, that is how I was able to buy every single gauge in my 89 , except the clock, I was even able to get the speedo with the rear defrost light inside it, very hard to find those , that came with the 89s .

    Thank you

They are but the cost are nearly the same as buying a new one. Frankly it is so close I never understood why someone would bother paying for that plus shipping both ways when for the same money they could have brand new factory sealed ones.

Is there noticeable performance degradation of the shocks?

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and there is a factory authorized Koni repair shop at Sears Point Raceway (Performance Shocks Inc.). I took my four shocks there to have them tested and rebuilt if necessary. They put them on their shock dyno and said all four were still at factory spec and that I should just put them back on the car.

They also confirmed that rebuilding them costs about the same as buying new ones.

Pre ABS, well there is the answer as to why I paid so much for my 89 Konis, I was under the impression that Koni did not make them for any 3x8 , not just ABS 328s . At that those prices, why would anyone hesitate on buying new ones ?

    Thank you

So, for those of us with ABS 328s the best (or only) option looks like having them rebuilt.

Ferr Parts might be able to get you new fronts and rears, but the prices, well, are pretty steep.

    Thank you

Which is why I suggested rebuilding them will be the best (cheaper) option.

Just my 2 cents but I purchased Spax from Superformance and they are satisfactory. The ability to adjust the ride height has been nice.

The only thing I've ever seen on here is that sometimes the rubber bits inside will degrade and put little chunks in the oil. Those little chunks plug up the passages and stop oil flow. External symptom is that the shocks get really stiff, the ride gets really hard. I think absent that, there isn't much internal degradation, and your shock dyno test probably proves that.

    Hey John,

I can't find new Konis on their configurator. How did you order? Phone or email?

    Thanks,

Does anybody sell the parts if I wanted to rebuild them myself?
