The best one i ever saw was BEG 4 1T on a 288 GTO at brands, a ferrari day about 15 years ago. Perfect.

I called you up when you had you 996 Turbo for sale to see if you would sell the plate.
Then we passed a couple of emails about mine, as you were interested in 22nd (22ND)

I've seen that 288GTO with BEG 4 1T as well.

Steve Parrish doesn't have PEN1S, it's actually PEN15 - the DVLA never issued PEN1S as they said it was offensive but forgot about PEN15 - doh! read about it back in Performance Car about 12/13 years ago when he had it on a Merc 500E - the forerunner to the AMG saloons.
Also remember the first Dodge Viper press car in the UK had WOW110T, which had apparently been bought off a guy with a Morris Minor Van (if memory serves me correctly - story also from Perf. Car)

'Round my way I've not seen anything that special - S55SSS on a PT Cruiser is about as good as it gets. Also seem to remember seeing a 360 with 88 B0B.

Recently got offered J89UAR for £12k - person who's selling it reckons Jaguar owner's club say it's worth £20k.

Personally I don't think I'd ever bother with a personalised plate - don't really see the need to draw attention to myself...

I'm with you on that one. The only exception that I would consider is that if the plate was exact for the car i.e. 308 GTB or say F355 GTS etc. This is drawing attention to the car.

Even if I had my initials & the number 1, I don't think I could put in on my car . As for a plate that requires an explanation... I always assume when people have such plates that they have been given them as a present by a loved one & are reluctantly driving around with them to save a family argument...
