It was a very exciting race up until the end. A lot of mistakes, holding ups, overtakings, you've got them all.
Alonso's & Kimi's passes on Schumi, Kimi on Fishichella on the last lap that was brilliant.
It was unbelievable to come from 17th on the grid and win the race.
    IMO he's simply the best!

He is awesome! I was whooping around yelling like a monkey on the last lap.

Didn't he start in 20th though? Speed had him starting there....but I see that F1.com has him at 17th...

Was an excellent race. Got up at 6.0 am to watch it. Good to see Kimi get a deserved first place.Shame he has got such an ar5e for a team boss. That guy really annoys me.

i must agree, the best race, after imola this year. full action, counter attcks, mistakes, now thats what i call racing!! btws, credit to schumi, who was really struggling with straightline/grip/underpower, but he still managed to hang on there and produce a few defencensive moves. shows that he still has that racing urge in his blood, and shows why he's a 7 time champ. anyways, i personally think both mac and renault were winners. thier speed is incredible, especially mac's.

p/s: i must say, i was very very impressed by FA's attacking moves. thourghout the season, saw him play more defence tactics, but now he's free, he's really a good attacker.

    Haha, yes you were!

That was by far my favorite race of the season. Kimi's pass on Fisi on the last lap simply topped off what was an amazing race from start to finish. Kimi single handedly sent the constructor's title to China, no thanks to Montoya and yet another self inflicted DNF....

Definitely a great race, and much better to watch once the local production crew got its collective head out of its nationalistic a$$ and showed the actual racing instead of spastic cuts back and forth between those over-sized Honda banners in the grandstands and the "Where's Sato?" Honda-hunt. I'm surprised that to this day Bernie, who places such a premium on his television product, doesn't dictate the production of the telecasts.

Japan GT was awsome race. IMO, best race of the year. Lots of passes and rest of the teams did great also. Sumi didn't win but he also had good race and Kimi's pass on last lap was just awsome.

What is up with alonso's interview. He didn't sound like world champion at all. He didn't win but it was good enough? what kind of world champion is that?

Best race of the season for sure.

    Kimi and Fernando were brilliant!!

FA's pass on MS at 130r ....a big wow!
KR on GF in the straight, last lap......another big wow.

I find that MS drove a great race. He did the best he could defending his position against FA and KR.

From back of the grid to podium is commendable. One just can't claim that winning a GP is the only worthwhile effort.

Seeing how KR and FA were able to just leave the Ferrari in the dust once they got by just emphasizes what a relatively poor package the F2005 is this year. They just blew it into the weeds. Amazing to see it.

At the post race interveiw Fisi looked as if someone told him a family member had died. Maybe his carreer ?
Alonso claimed to be the fastest.
But Kimi ,in his monotone, let his actions speak. ( someone needs to spend a couple of bucks on interveiw lessons and less on bar tabs )

I think Alonso might have been able to win this one if he didn't need to let Klien pass him again.

Speaking of bar tabs did anybody notice how much Kimi was drinking from the Champagne, I think somebody was trying to get drunk ;-)

Kimi is the man. To bad JPM couldnt get points. Its now a two point race for the Constructors.

Did Alonso seem a little cockey in the post race interview? I guess he earned it. He did have to give up a 7 second advantage after taking the short cut.

Check out this link for a few pics of our watching party at Hooters.

The start was just fantastic. Everyone was going for broke, which many almost did.
I dont know what to think about JPM ; Do you make your own luck, or wrong place wrong time once again.
Kimis last lap pass was just incredible, Outside, so much to loose championship-wise, yet so thought out. You could see him setting Fisi up in the esses.

Yeah they really saved the best for last didn't they. They should qualify in the rain more often! I was stuck to the screen when it was Mike-Alonso-Kimi all trailing each other. Best race I've ever seen!

I loved the comment when MS was holding Alonso and behind him Kimi, comment was "Past, Present, Future".

    Yep love it!

Finally everybody was simply racing for a win ... get rid of the corporate pressure on these drivers and every race would be this good!~!

It really was the best race of the year. I hope China will be as exciting, especially with Merc trying to get back in the lead for the manufacturers title and MS trying to keep 3rd in the drivers championship.

well, actually, in my opinion, he did his best...he was just powerless to prevent kimi's pass...just look at the damn pace of the mac..it overtook fisi like as if fisi was crawling. i think, maybe if that was michael, he could hold up for victory for another lap. just watch how michael gave his best in defending his position

... and exactly why Fisi should be sacked. MS was driving an Iveco ... Fisi was driving a car good enough to give Alonso the WC, and Fisi showed over and over again that he has NOT got it, by defending in the wrong place. Brundle (the commentator I was listening to) was absolutely amazed at the poor driving by Fisi in blocking a non-existent Kimi coming down to the chicane.

This was slowing Fisi so much and basically enabled Kimi to catch him.

Time to go Fisi ... he has been lucky to keep a job for the last 2 years atleast.
    Pete
