Joe: If you’re looking for upper-echelon dining, try the two Michelin starred “La Chevre d’Or” up in Eze...spectacular views, food and service. Very romantic if you’re looking for that sort of thing. In Monaco dine at “Le Louis XV” inside the Hotel de Paris...it’s run by Ducasse and has three well-deserved stars. The Baba au Rhum dessert is a must-have. Needless to say, these places are (how you say?) pricey. Alan N.J.
Louis XV, if you can manage the expense, is a restaurant every “foodie” should experience once in their lifetime. Just to give you an idea, the tip normally runs $200 to $250. I love Le Palme d’Or in Cannes. Sitting outside and watching the sunset over the Côte d’Azur while having a 2 starred meal is just a great time. Priced less than Louis XV but not significantly less.
Well this was a surprising email to wake up to... Image Unavailable, Please Login Needless to say, I guess they like us there. Taking a friend and his wife--he was the CDC at Apis in Spicewood TX pre-covid (hasn't returned in pursuit of other interests) and could probably open a place and be starred in a year or two if he were in the right location. Should be a good night out.
Nice thread. I'm a regular visitor of the Dutch speaking part of Fchat. Drive a 430 scud. My tip: travel to San Sebastian (Bilbao airport, Spain). San Sebastian is a medieval town on the Atlantic coast, and often referred to as the culinary capital of the world. My favorites: 1. Martin Berasategui 2. Akkelare 3. Arzak 4. Mirador de Ulia Best practice is to have lunch in one of these fine dining restaurants, take a nap, and have diner in one of more of the many pinxto bars down town. Next Day: repeat. They really do it with gusto there. Quite informal, probably the best price we've ever seen for michelin starred dining....really a must do for anyone in dc
I feel terrible after giving Vefour such a positive review.... I' m on their list, and get regular updates and I think they are still serving outside ... I'm not sure if its the govt mandate or what but COIVD has made its impact. I think starting in September you can dine inside with Vaccine card from CDC - or the Euro qr code on the phone. but it looks like you had a good time in Paris.
Im shocked that their standards have gone down... but I know some places have had a very hard time with staffing etc... Arpege is closed and Ducasse is really scaling back what is open or closed.....
Yesterday, Le Meurice Alain Ducasse. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pol: The setting and the food look fabulous…I’ll give Le Meurice the next time we’re in Paris. We ate at Guy Savoy (at the Mint) last month and it was wonderful. Also, if you’re a fan of truffles (as indicated by your photo) have lunch at ‘Un Jour a Peyrassol’ in the 2nd, just down the street from Grand Colbert. Merry Christmas! Alan N.J.
Had a fantastic truffle risotto (made with Japanese rice) at Le Cirque LV last weekend. We are long time loyal Le Cirque diners but the menu has dramatically changed since their re-opening. And NOT for the better. Heartbreaking.
The Inn at Little Washington offers one of the best dining experiences in North America. Make sure to get reservations well in advance.
****** That reminds me of what was likely the best "deal" that I ever made. ~12 years ago, a DC lawyer was raising money for a political candidate and offered a three day stay at the Inn at Little Washington, including breakfast and dinner. I paid $500. It was a great destination trip with the GF/Wife in the Maranello; 2500 miles round trip and the food was excellent
So elegant. What’s up with those chairs? Totally out of place. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
