About to signup with AAA. Seems like to they tow exotics all the time

Willing to pay more. Wondering if there is a network of exotic car tow companies thst offer a membership? Or even non membership. Just want a vetted team of operators that may be readily available at all hours.

Don't think this exists and AAA might just be fine. Thought I would check first.

Ferrari Roadside sucks. It's run by Allstste. Left me waiting 4 hours in a bad neighborhood. I figure State Farm would be the same.

AAA works okay but there are some moderns constraints when needing a tow. It appears to me that the tow services they use are in a network that is pretty fully utilized, efficient from a trucker point of view and not so great from the broken-down-car customer point of view. A delay of a few hours is what I hear (with only a small anecdotal data set).

Before I call AAA, I call two places in Orange County (both of which I pay directly plus tip to the driver):
G&W Towing in Costa Mesa has been reliable and clear on expected time to arrival. I've used them since 1980 here and there, not had a need in the last 5 years.
Aaron's Towing with driver Karie is what I use for collector car scheduled hauls. She knows what she is doing and has hauled for me in Orange and LA counties. Karie also has hauled for me on spontaneous need.

I found AAA to be reliable and quick here in LA. I am actually having a car picked up down at our second residence next week to be delivered to my builder at zero cost - taking advantage of the free tows !

AAA used to be pretty good as far as efficient towing or roadside assistance, but it seems that their response times have been getting worse the more time goes on. Not as good as it used to be.

This begs the question, when requesting a flatbed tow truck, what should you ask and make sure they have?

  10. Just stick with Ferrari Roadside.

They are no better or worse than any insurance company, and at least you have the familiarity with Ferrari, and what car you are talking about.

Imagine telling some 3d party tow from AAA (for example) that "My California needs a tow" and getting a response "Yes, I know, but I need to know what car you have, not what state you are in?"

just an fyi.. i called today G&W they dont do exotics anymore... and called AArons towing, and phone just rings, no answer.

ive been thru the AAA route as well, and was stranded for hours up angeles crest, finally had to bite the bullet and call independent Haddock towing. They did a fine job but cost dearly!!

i too am looking to have a good resource... if anyone knows of somebody.

People refer to "doing a good job" when towing. Can we break this down as I am ignorant. Aside from "are you sending a flatbed", I am not sure what questions to ask to make sure they DO and NOT DO. Can you help and list some questions we should be asking to help determine if the driver is "good"" and using the right equipment, tools, process?
