Man, I saw this movie when it came out in the theater. I had nightmares for years after. I must have been 9-10 yrs old. It was a double feature with the second feature was a guy with no pupils in his eyes that went around draining the blood from his victims with this machine. Didn't stay for that one.

Alien, because it had a really "alien" looking alien thanks to the mind of H.R. Giger. Aliens was a disappointment because it turned into a shoot-em up action film. Forbidden Planet, totally electronic music score, Robby's first film and Ann Francis! Oh, and Earl Holliman as the cook. 2001, saw it in Cinerama while under the influence of a certain illegal chemical. The 50's and early 60's had some interesting b+w films with the usual morality play themes. Outer Limits had some good stories by big name writers as well as the Twilight Zone, (both original series, not the updates). The first Star Wars film, effects that were unlike anything that came before. The Day the Earth Stood Still, typical human response, shoot anything that's different, talk later. (Granted the 50's were a time of unparalled paranoia, surpassed only by the times we live in today!). One of the funniest (unintentionally) was one called "The Creeping Terror". The creature was a cross between a large sunflower with a caterpillar body and a large furry vertical slit for a mouth. The victims had to actually crawl into the mouth as the creature had no arms. "Them" was a reasonably good film with a fairly heavy message, as were most of the 50's scifi films

I saw Sunshine because it was recommended here................all I can say is.....somewhat boring, annoying camera work and kind of lame ending. Just my 2 cents.

The definitive sci-fi movie! I keep hearing about, but have never run into any of these 'easy' women. :(

Here is a good one: The Abyss.

Speaking of that movie, does anyone remember Michael Biehn? He was in three great sci-fi movies (The Terminator, Aliens, and The Abyss), not to mention playing a great villian in Tombstone.

Then it is like he dropped off the face of the Earth.

Maybe he saved his money. I think a few good movie roles could set you for life.

I looked him up, he's still working but not often. Sounds like the life to me.
