Any opinions on the best place to procure extremely fresh seafood around here? Whole Foods typically has a decent selection but I am sure there is a great market (retail) around that is very fresh.

    What say you?

A friend who makes his own sushi says he gets his fish from whole foods.

But yeah I'd imagine there's someplace better.

I know Whole Foods is expensive, but I eat their sushi all the time and love it. I've heard people say good things about Dorignacs but I don't know about their seafood. I just heard about good wine and meat. I just caught a bunch of fresh fish yesterday. Can't get any fresher than that!

Sheaffer and Rausch on Lake Ave in Bucktown is the way to go. No exotic fish here, but everything else is super fresh. Plus, try their homemade potato salad, yummm.

Captain Sids' (Lake Ave.) potato salad is great, too.
