Best Seats for 296 GTB/GTS ...

Race seats. The Daytona pattern is cool, but it's getting kind of old IMHO. But that's just me.

 

I got race seats with Daytona trim

 

I am curious too.. Daytona looks a lil dated.
Are race seats comfortable?
I am inclining towards comfort seats..

 

For me, the race seats have proven to be my best choice in the last 4 Ferraris.

 

I have Race seats with Daytona trim in my Pista and comfort seats with Daytona trim in my Lusso. Everyone seems to find them comfortable and I like the look.

I test drove the 296 twice. I found the race seats in leather to be very uncomfortable after a bit. It is the spine line on the back rest. It really hurt my back. The leather is firm and I’m not that heavy. The contrasting indented line caused the pain. The Alcantara was 100% different and better.
I will go with race seat in Alcantara. I believe only the SF90 and 296 share the same race seat design.

 

I’ve got race seats in my SF90 and have ordered them again in my 296GTB. They are better than the old race buckets for comfort and looks. Daytona pattern looks great but all the stitching makes the seat surface harder and lumpier I find.

 

seems like I am the only who likes the standard seats

 

I dig the standard seats from a comfort and grip perspective too. That said, the race seats just look SO bada$$, with all of that exposed carbon and sleek padding, and aren't uncomfortable at all!

We'll do race seats in the GTB and live with 'em for a bit. I have a feeling that the standards will win out for the GTS, though, since my wife is 100% in on heated seats and the neck warmers. Not like the GTS will get tracked anyhow...there are far cheaper ways to have way more fun!

 

I ordered a GTS and kept the standard seats... I will not track the car anyway...

 

The comfort seats on the GTS has neck warmers?

Well, I went right into it

 

I went daytona sports seats. I've never actually sat in daytona sports seats. I will before I lock in my order. But sports seats are a must, for me. I really didn't like the comfort seats at all.

 

I've driven 296 GTB's with the Race seats and while a bit hard, I found them comfortable for my short drives. However, when we ordered our 296 GTS we ordered the electric Comfort seats with the Alcantara seat trim. I thought the Alcantara would be a good substitute to keep you planted in the seat without going to the full race seat. I went this way with a Corvette order in 2014 and have been very happy with the results.

Its one of those things that you think is silly, until you’ve had it, then you want it on every car. Kind of like heated seats. At first, people laughed at them.

If you want to keep planted in your seat - go with Peccary - It’s what Schumacher used in his F1 cars. Grips so well - not sure if it’s generally available or only Tailor Made.

 

Absolutely, ergonomics and design are bad !
