    Whta would be the best small (easy to carry in pocket) camera that does not have to be fiddled with to get great pics quickly by a total amateur?
    Something that would also have a really good "red eye" feature,decent flash and decent quality of pictures?
    Would really appreciate the opinion of the pros here.

    not a pro but i have an SLR canon which is too heavy

    for quick top quality pics ina cas that you can carry, i just grabbed a Sony DSC H3

    Full HD and great speed and quality

    BTW i can recommend you a Sony or a Canon maybe the SD750 or the 800
