What do you recommend? I think I have used everything by now for my 4 sports cars & can't find a product that doesn't turn brown with time/sun. At this point I will spend anything for a great tire dressing for my new tires.

I like Griot's tire dressing. It makes the tire look new, not glossy and shiny. It doesn't turn brown, but you do have to apply it every other wash or so.

None, that stuff can make for a problem when driving in the wet/rain. Last thing i'd want is reduced grip on the street or the track in the rain.

get a sillicone spray like surefilm. spray it onto a cloth and then wipe it on your tyres. It lasts for ages and if you wipe it on sparingly, avoiding your tread till it comes up nice it will look good and give minimal chance of trouble in the wet or on the track.

The key is when you wash your car, use a tire degreaser first. Spray it on then with soap & water scrub it off and rinse. You'll see the tire turn brown from the old dressing and dirt. After it's dry I liked to use a product called "Black Again". Personally I like a more natural shine instead of a super glossy one.

Personally I don't use it and only wash the tires instead. Flinging off and gumming up the cover are a couple of reasons, plus I think it promotes the browning. Of course if the car really needs to look great for something I'll dress it up on occasion. Tires don't look too bad if you keep them washed using a brush.

Yeah, especially if you also apply it to the tread surface instead of just to the sidewalls! :)

I also use this - this is the best I have used so far on my tires for all my vehicles. It gives the tires a nice rich dark sheen, noot too shiny. It is also a 100% uv blocker so that helps as well. I believe it is totally non-silicone product.
    highly recommended!

I use Zaino Tire Dressing for all exterior applications. Looks great and, more importantly, really helps preserve rubber and vinyl against UV.

In the States, equivalents would be "ZepAid" by Zep, or Dry Type Silicone Spray from 3M (or any other type of silicone spray that is specified as "dry type"). If you are not sure if one is a "Dry" type or not, see in the fine print if it says anything about being approved by the FDA for food handling equipment. NAPA carries the 3M, and any place that sells industrial/commercial cleaning supplies will also sell ZepAid or some other brand's equivalent.

Dry silicone sprays can be used as a dry lubricant, but are equally used in preserving rubber seals. They work great on tires. No browning, last through many washes, look new, not greasy. Being out in the sun and harsh conditions that lead to dry-rot of tires are what bring about the need for reapplication, not washing. Apply in moderation and it will dry to the touch. Works great on the rubber spoilers of 1980s Porsches, too . . .

When I first learned of this, I bounced it off of a friend who is a chemist. He started talking about base polymers and a bunch of other things that didn't register with me, but in layman's English, he thought it was a great idea and made perfect sense.

    Regards,

    Tony K.

I use griots vinyl and rubber dressing. It doesn't make the tires super shiny just more of a new satin finish.

Optimum Tire Shine. Most other tire shines have petroleum type bases that will crack your tires, and wear out the UV protection over time. Optimum Tire Shine lasts a long time, and is water based, so it will do no harm to your tires.

303 Aerospace Protectant ROCKS!. It is NON-silicone, NON-petroleum distillate based. NO GOO, NO sling.
Works very well on leather and vinyl as well, approved by a highly regarded upholstry/top shop in my area. I've tossed everything else.

So right about the 100% UV blocker. THAT is what makes your tires brown.
