    hi guys, I'm coming to the US with the family for 3 weeks and not doing an organised tour so wondering what is the best URL to book reasonably cheap accomodation (around the $100-150/day)

    Also a link to car hire that you know is good, I've seen plenty of sites but want something reliable


    I'm doing the Disneyland-Disneyworld-Smithsonian run with a week in each location.

    disney land in FL or CA? or both? If CA I can give you ideas for lots of places to go. For online i've had decent luck with expedia.com

    thanks Bill, I'm doing both Disneyland/world , the Universal, theme park thing, Yosemite and Yellowstone if I have the time but I want to have our own schedule in case we see something we want to stay with longer.

    I know the Smithsonian is huge which is why I'm allocating a week and a week in FL gets me to the NASA thing as well.

    What would be the one thing in each place you would not want to miss out on ?

    btw the wife is the culture buff, the boy and I are strangely into cars :D

    hence no culture options please, I can do a virtual walk through museums and galleries and get the same experience, I love the internet :)
