A 70th anniversary 488 GTB just sold for 605K at Barrett Jackson Scottsdale in January of this year. Ferrari 80th anniversary is just around the corner and the launch of the F80. These are becoming less and less available as owners are hanging on to them.

I'm thinking Sotheby's or Mecum during car week in Monterey or Barrett Jackson Scottsdale in October of this year or January 2026. Not sure of the best way to sell this car. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Link below takes you to some detailed high quality pics. After that is a little pitch about the car.

"2017 Ferrari 488 GTB 70th anniversary edition. Livery #41 "Bold Yellow" (VIN: ZFF79ALA5H0226319) this one-of-one pays homage to the 1967 Dino 206 Competizione. The color of this 488 GTB is very special. It is "Giallo Tre Strati” which is a very deep triple layer yellow pearl. This color is mesmerizing in the sun and seems to give off an aura around the car you can actually feel. All 70th anniversary cars are unique, but this one is extraordinary.

The interior is in Inchiostro leather with electric blue Alcantara carpeting. Inchiostro is a deep black furniture-grade leather with both natural and fine grain and is also used on the historic ribbed pattern seats. You can see the homage paid to the Dino 206 Competizione with these colors, internal aluminum elements, bespoke materials, and many original details. Just simply gorgeous.

At only 3,427 miles this car has been gently used without sitting for extended periods of time. There are several items included that are nearly impossible to find (Sergio Marchionne signed letter, Nani Tedeschi signed artwork) and more. What makes this car truly unique is the 70th anniversary items and elements from the 206 Competizione. Most 70th anniversary cars have had some or most of their items kept by previous owners thus making the car incomplete.

Out of the seventy different 488 GTB anniversary liveries, there were only eleven cars designated for the US. One of those now resides in Budapest, Hungary. Leaving only ten in the entire US. These cars were by invite only to VIP clients when first launched. A recent 70th anniversary 488 GTB was just sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in January 2025 for $605,000. This clearly sets a precedent where these rare and historically significant cars are heading in the market. Do not miss this rare opportunity to own this piece of appreciating Ferrari history."

For the life of me I don’t see anything more than a Taylor Made 488 coupe that’s worth maybe $300k. If Barrett Jackson and their liquor fueled bidders can trade these cars at $600k why not just ship it to them and be done with it?
