Absolutely..... The one openly homosexual member in my old active duty squadron was an excellent fighter. His boyfriend (not military) called the command post about once a week saying that they had gotten into a fight and he was gonna kill himself. The member himself is now in trouble for trying to punch his supervisor. Nothing but fighting and drama. Of course homosexuals don't have a lock on problems.

During the time I was in I knew several people who were mildly closeted at best and for the most part they are the same as anyone else.

KNEW there was something wrong with Kadena when I popped into the exchange there and couldn't buy some B&W 802 Matrix speakers at a killer price (because the person who ran that particular cubbyhole wasn't in that day...) Had to make do with an amplifier that cost about half what it would in the good old US of A. At least it was much easier to get back to the pier & loaded onto my submarine - and the box took up a whole lot less space in the engine room, quadruple wrapped in garbage bags & lashed up outboard of one of the R114 ac units in the engine room. :)
