So incredibly funny, the Judge TOLD then what was Inadmissible in court, and they show it ANYWAY. I guess I am not surprised, the government can't do anything else right.
he caught a break. he ain't gonna serve time, even if he is retried imo...but betcha clemens DOESN'T walk into cooperstown, at least as an elected member,
I'd bet at this point, with his millions, and with staying out of prison, he could not care less about Cooperstown. He's like anyone else: if he gets in, he gets in, and if not, oh well. I don't see him being bitter about it like some guys are that have not gotten in. There are guys in the NFL that are so bitter that now, they say if they get in, they will decline it. I don't buy that for a second. Was it Harry Carson? I know it was an LB from the Giants about 15-20 years ago (not LT).
+1 So, I guess the question becomes will he be re-tried or will they simply give up? I don't know all the details, but the judge must have been *pissed* at the prosecutors! As you said, he had already told 'em what stuff was inadmissible, and they presented it anyway! WTF? Is/has anyone been fired I wonder? Cheers, Ian
Any trial lawyer worth his salt knows every piece of evidence they are going to submit like the back of their hand. The Judge knows that and is probably taking it as a personal insult. I wouldn't at all be surprised if he just let Clemonns walk. High profile cases like this are usually given to the best of the best Justice has, scary.
What a farce. US Attorneys go 0-1-1 against MLB. I count the Bonds trial as a tie, although I think they may lose the appeal.
After I read the article(s), and the judge's comments, I cannot believe they have not levied sanctions against the lawyers at least, and bring them up in front of the bar and suspend their license to practice for X amount of time at most, no matter WHO they are representing.
