Those with a 348 might want to trade up to this?:

Watch the 1991 Syclone truck video. Hope you find the humor in this. At least we have it beat over 130mph, LOL.

You can be quick but not fast and fast but not quick. It all depends on which scale you want to be on. Personally I opt for quick and fast.

I remember the Car and Driver issue when the GMC Syclone came out touting "the quicker than a Ferrari" headline.

It was the keg hauling comparison in that story that I really enjoyed. Although the Syclone could haul a dozen to the one you could fit in the 348's passanger seat, I am not sure that its GVWR could handle carrying more than three of them that were not empty. ;)

That's a nice truck. However, he keeps saying "four-wheel drive" instead of what it really is, AWD.

The Leno website says that they made about 3,000 of them. I think that is over stated, but I could be wrong. The Typhoon, that was made in '92 & '93 only had about 2,600 total and I thought they made more Typhoons than Syclones.

I owned a '93 Typhoon when they came out and, let me tell you, it was fricken fast! However, there were tons of design problems. The Typhoon had a leaf spring suspension and I went snapped 3 separate sets of leaf springs. The suspension just couldn't handle the 360 ft-lbs of torque. Also, if I remember correctly, the weight limit was 800lbs, so the car couldn't carry very much at all.

Watching that video makes me miss my Typhoon. I've often looked at listings for used ones, but I was not as fortunate as Leno and my Typhoon was plagued with problems. Starter issues, alternator issues, suspension, heater core... the list went on.

    But, it was fricken fast!
