Hello Ferrarichat community, We have another Aaron White in our midst but this time it is someone else. The name is Alex Etchinson and he has been scamming people for a couple of years now. He happened to scam Gustan out of 20,000 dollars and I am posting this and the link to the thread to make everyone aware. This is a serious matter and we all need to work together. If you have had ANY dealings with Alex or his father dwight, even if you didn't fall victim of the scam, please make it known here. The more evidence that we gather the quicker and harder these crooks go down. Thanks, Dan
I got scammed by a single mom last week on Bourbon Street. It's true what they say about The Champagne Room!
FWIW, while the name is not in the title, there's been a Sticky on FerrariChat.com > Other Cars > General Discussion for a few days now... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=182
Just to be the voice of cynicism here.... Seems like you and a few of your buddies have been hitting up a few car (and other) forums posting this story that is short on details and a link to Live Lambo where you have to register to actually read the thread. When I look at what else is on that particular forum the next thread I see is a thread by a Pakistani guy who sent me an message a while back asking a bunch of questions about my military connections. Rather amusingly I see that you (or one of your associates) posted this same nebulous story to a Law Enforcement forum which also found your tale to be a little suspect. At best I suspect you are pushing some kind of marketing scam, much like you (or your associate's) web page discusses. The other option is that you are running some kind of scam yourself, perhaps on the coattails of some other scammer. The appeal to the FChat audience by bringing up Aaron White makes me wonder. I gave up the moderator job a while back but it would be interesting to do some digging with your IP addresses and search around with the email accounts you have used to register accounts with. Any of the current mods have a few spare minutes?
Wow... not sure how to even respond to this... im a 19 yr old college student who wanted to get the word out about a scammer who has been lurking in the exotic car community. P.S. you can post my IP address and here's my person number 775-830-1821 hasn't changed in 4 years..
Well I do You sell fake Ferrari merchandise. The Girard Perregaux Ferrari watches are unfortunately out of stock but I'm very intrigued by the elegant Ferrari jacket in pleather. You do realize that Ferrari takes it's trademarks rather seriously? I suppose you are an honest chap since some of the stuff is described as Ferrari "style" rather than insinuating it's the real thing. I can't really tell if the shirts on your site are real but you claim to be selling the real deal on eBay Hong Kong. The Movado watches thing is more than I want to hunt down right now but it is curious that you sell them on eBay's French site.
I'm not sure what your on about, but for the record, the "My Child has been Kidnapped -- Pakistani Guy (as you so politely describe him)" thread actually started here on FCHAT a long time before it did on livlambo http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=219841 As for Alex/Dwight Etchinson, all the OP was trying to do was warn the community to do their homework before dealing with anyone by their name. If certain people did not make the situation public with Aaron White, how would people know he was a con-artist. Same issue with Forest Hill that has recently surfaced. Fact is that Alex Etchinson has been screwing people who are members on these forums. This thread just serves as a "use caution" when dealing with anyone who might be Alex Etchinson. Cheers
Then let the folks who have first hand experience share what they know. If Alex Etchinson is some type of scammer roaming the land I hope we could get something more than vague accusations linked to "proof" on another forum that requires registration to view..... and all this brought to us by a 19 year old kid who sells fake Ferrari merchandise on the intarwebs.
Gus was the one scammed of $20k, but he's banned on FerrariChat long term and can't post. It is Dan's right to post a warning at his own liability. If they truly are scammers, then I'm sure people will appreciate a heads up. If this is a another hollow drama (there have been many and reason Gus was banned) then that will come out in the long run too. So far I don't think this is a fake fight with a friend, fake death notice, letters to FNA to shut FerrariChat.com down, fake chairs & flares Dino, me & Jennie gay swingers, high powered car collector that turns out to be low paid part time employee, or... any others I can't remember?
While not doubting the message itself, Mark sure as hell owned the messenger dbaker89 pretty well there. If anything it does show that there could be an agenda other than just warning the ownership.
I'm not sure how my auctions are international? I do sell them on eBay, that's how I got my start in selling apparel -- maybe it lists them internationally. I am told by my supplier that the polos are authentic and manufactured under license JSS&P LTD. As far as the jackets, I do not mention that the jackets are authentic as there is no certification with them like there is the polos. I would very happily stop selling them if I am violating something because I do not need the trouble of the law at this stage in my life. I word things carefully with the knowledge I have just like the watches. I do not say genuine or authentic because I do not know if they are -- I simply read and describe the item as is. As far as the Movado watch goes, I work in a jewelry store that carried Movado and worked a deal with the owner of the store. You can push me down and punch me all you want but this thread was posted in the goodness of my heart. I do not want anyone else to get scammed and spent all of my day yesterday reading the Aaron white thread because I have just learned of this scam business. I am sorry if I offended you Mark and I respect you looking out for fellow members as well. Dan
I never claimed to have been scammed personally by Alex, I just wanted to relay the message to others. This guy is still in the works according to people in the other thread that have been almost scammed by this guy recently.
Wow now I feel like I was duped into posting this. These officers are grilling this guy. I was just trying to spread the word and now my youth is showing.
I do not want any drama. if I am in violation of copyrights I will shut my site down immediately. if I am posting slander I will correct myself immediately. I am not a bad person I was just trying to relay the message. I do not have experience getting scammed monetarily but I do know how it feels and it is almost the way I feel right now. When I was 12, I played a game called Diablo 2. I spent hundreds of hours acquiring various items in the game to make my character more powerful. I was then scammed and lost all of my hard work and my character by a keylogger. The scammer then put me in matrix chat and told me that he was stealing my fathers business information that was on the family computer and was going to bankrupt us. I cried for days on end because I was so scared for myself and my family. I know that I would NEVER want anyone else to be scammed regardless if it is a pet rock or money.
