HEADS UP GUYS I JUST POSTED THIS IN THE OFFTOPIC SECTION ALSO

Many people had warned me of their business practices but I didn't listen I had to find out the hard way. In July of 2003 I purchased a refrigerator and washer and dryer for my new home. Best But offered a 24 month same as cash with deferred interest so rather than pay the 3K up front I opted to pay with their no interest plan. When I received the bill the first few months I just payed it w/O looking at it. Big mistake they had tacked on a $25.00 per month fee for debt cancellation when I called they told me that I had accepted it since I did not inital to decline it when I made the purchase. I told them that I did not need nor want it and that their employee never mentioned this charge which I am sure the sales person received a kickback from tricking me into taking this coverage. Anyway they stopped the charges and everything has been fine since then. Till I received the January bill with $4.14 in interest posted to the bill. (I still have until june before the 24 month no interest is up). After wading through their cumbersome phone system to get to speak to a human( a Human in INDIA ) I am told that the plan expired and this is deferred interest from the debt cancellation insurance. I explained to them that the plan could not have expired since it still had six months left on it. They told me I had to speak to someone in debt cancellation dept. so they transferred me to another person in INDIA. This flunky told me that the charge was because my plan expired I again explained to them that I was looking at a receipt dated July of 2003 and It was a Dec. 2005 bill so the 24 month no interest plan could not have expired and that their customer non service dept. stated that it was from this insurance that I never needed or wanted or was notified of to begin with. The flunky then transferred me to a supervisor in INDIA who gave me thsame BS. She then stated she was going to transfer me back to customer non service and disconnected me. So in the end I went on line paid the bill of including the extra $4.14 . and will never purchase another thing from Best Buy again as long as I live. In the next few weeks I will be replacing all of the appliances and televisions from my mothers house in New Orleans that flooded. So that 10K plus will be spent at Circuit City so FU Best Buy .

Unless I'm doing the math wrong, the 24 months would have ended in July 2005. 12 months from July 2003 = July 2004. 24 months from July 2003 = July 2005.

Hey Frank - you can buy from Kirshman's!!

    BAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA. Frank LOVES Kirshmans!!

    BAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHAAAAAAA

I never had any problems buying appliances from Sears or A1.

But if I was buying 10K worth of stuff I would search on the web and buy wholesale- shipping cost more then offset by no sales tax and lower price.

FU(K Kirshman's . That's another one I hope goes out of business for their customer non-service. Looks like I'll stick with Comeaux for the appliances and beds and a specialty store the Plasma.

guys sorry to hijack your thread, but my wife and i , when we visited nola last year, ventured over the causeway and fell in love with mandeville. we had lunch and or dinner at the louisiana grill at least three times!!! so for you local people you know that is alot of driving on the causeway. anyway i hope the louisiana grill wasn't damaged, also wish you guys the best in getting back to normal life.
