I'm struggling to think of a single instance when this has worked-out well for continuity of tradition or the customer, from local medical/restaurants to Ferrari itself.

I completely agree with all of that. We did a few privately organized tours with Bill many years ago. He’s a prince.

Hagerty's also acquired The Greenwich Concours, and another concours on the west coast that I can't remember the name of. It's ALL getting much too "corporate" for me. Sort of like all the big box stores taking over neighborhoods.

Bill Warner is great (and a friend), and I completely understand & agree with his reasons, nothing wrong with that, and it was a very good deal. But my personal sadness/unhappiness with that deal is is that Amelia went to a monolith - same as Cavallino to another monolith. :(:(

Many know me as a very passionate concours d’Elegace participant. I will gladly start a thread on this topic this evening. Thank you for the suggestion, Marcel. Stay tuned.

Perhaps like the initial “misjudgment”(?) of timing triggering this topic, etc, it might be too late for this too ^^ ?
Iceberg is straight ahead and close, many on the observation deck (including here) have already seen it, but the ball room is hopping with people dancing and enjoying tortellinis, so the band must play on…

BTW, looking at the last brand name in MM’s post #202 above, I can’t help but wonder who approved somewhat strange (ominous ?) appearance of two S’s in it ?
Perhaps I just read too much (geopolitical) history and see or view strange little details in life a bit differently ?

You’ve got to wonder if the judging and show will become as haphazard as the historical knowledge of their own newly purchased show.

I was pleasantly surprised however that they didn’t mention the apparently important tortellini and it’s grandson chef…

Not that it matters, but to spin out the conspiracy people Kauffman is a frequent customer of Canossa and also partnered his Speed Digital company with Motorsport Network. :D Remember when FerrariChat went to Speed Digital in 2019? I loved going to HQ in Charlotte. The partnership ended and FerrariChat came back to Motorsport in 2020. You are certainly right, Robert is an amazing guy, amazing collection including Ferraris, and a semi-active FerrariChat user.

I've been trying hard to bite my tongue and will reserve judgment until after next week's event, but I too couldn't help but laugh when I saw the reference to the Cavallino Classic having been established 42 years ago. Math is not my strong suit (and apparently I'm not alone), but I've attended every Cavallino since its inception in 1992, and I'm pretty sure that means next week will mark my 31st year!

    Sir,

    Welcome to the site.
This debate in "the Court of Public Opinion" is unwinnable.

Further, to the point, while there have been purges, even here, of professionals in the Ferrari Repair/Sales industry, this move (you ARE employed by the Ferrari Factory, fact) really strikes at members that have, while concurrently offering professional service, have invested FREELY to other new owners here, of thousands and thousands of hours of hard won expertise. Unreimbursed..For the love of the cars, the history, and the hobby.

John Barnes ran it "his way" and famously made some very hard and lasting enemies, that are prominent in the public eye today.
Similarly, without the "why" of what could only be seen as "last minute shabby trestment" you have brought a knife, into a gunfight.

Perhaps you are aware of the shambles of the D&G fashoin show, in China??
The take away there, IMO is that perhaps "management decisions, made far away" can often have real world consequences that were never intended.
The shows wares wee left aabandoned as the models fled the Convention Center, mass burings of D&G products occured...nationwide.

You are in Florida now, the USA.
You want to throw a party that will attract new customers, to the Marque, as well as let long time owners feel respected and validated, to have chosen the Prancing Horse.

I can only hope that you didn't hire Megan Thee Stallion, or CardiB, as entertainment?
That was my veiled reference earlier to "modern Miami" in this thread.
    Those people drive Lamborghins, and..........poorly!

    + 1 , ...

... except FCA Annual Event isn't usually open for "the general public", which IMO is a good thing since it's intended for members/true enthusiasts only and so far has managed not becoming a "$lifestyle$" thing.

The cars in that photo were at 2021 Cavallino. Aren't they all owned by Motorsport Network founder Mike Zoi (who used to be a Ferrari Challenge driver).
