I went into a uk ferrari dealership earlier this week and they had a 458 in bianca Italia with a Grigio silverstone roof and the CF rear panel. It looked absolutely amazing and was one of the best looking 458's I have ever seen. Only concern is re sale. Are there any known issues with re sale of White or tri paint cars. I also like red with black roof and Grigio silverstone. Oh....the dealer said they had pictures of the 458 replacement......
I think the true resale issue will be when the replacement is released. Until then, it's very tough to find any hard evidence of a color being truly inferior. I would also love to see pics of this car and / or the replacement.
i think the bi and tri color paints have higher resale. especially white. i am told they are difficult to match, should you need touch up painting/fender repair.
Resale? Just rent one occasionally and you will never have to worry about resale. My local dealer just this past week offered up a red with black top 458 that has been sitting for some time now at the dealership. His opinion was that the two tone configurations seemed to sit over solid color cars. They offered it at a discount a 5k but still too much for my budget. I am waiting until the replacement comes out for prices to drop a bit more.
Used Cars - 2014 Ferrari 458 Italia F1 - 2014 64 Bianco Italia This is it........I would seriously consider this, but as its almost new I am worried about over depreciation to normal given the imminent realise of the replacement. The dealer disagreed with me on high depreciation as its the last of the N/A V8 and believes demand will stay strong for 430 and 458.
I believe Bianco Italia is double layer not triple layer. Car looks lovely and Meridien are excellent to deal with - a family run Ferrari dealer! As to value in the short term, tricky to know. Prices and availability are unknowns for the replacement TT car.
Remind the dealer of this if you try to trade it in a year or two !! I'm guessing this must be one of the highest priced used 458's in the UK, so it will take a good hit in depreciation if you use it. However ,I would say that the price is immaterial as is the depreciation if it's the car that you really want and you can afford it-then go for it you'll get a load more fun out of it than you will staring at a bank statement :0) Enjoy, Bob
just sold a '13 458 spider that was bianco fuji (triple layer paint) and had no issue about the color...had 4,000 miles on it, had it two years, and took a very small haircut imho
Bob Just checked all UK 458's for sale and it is about the highest priced one for sale. Spec is good with 50k + VAT of extras and is effectively a new car so its total cost would have been 235k before any discount. That said there are similar loaded cars with <3000 miles for 170k before haggling. Really want one but I do have an eye on depreciation and do not want to lose more than 20k p.a. and therefore may wait until 2016....cant quite decide. It wont get used much and will be only used on nice days for fun.......
the paint job was about a $25k upcharge which is why the price is high....when i sold my bianco fuji i lost less than 15% after over two years of ownership...if you love the color buy it, because the chance of finding another one with the same colors is highly unlikely
I also worried, analyzed, and went over every single parameter you could possibly think of , when purchasing a 458. Advice which was given to me, and tends to make sense. None of us want to lose money on a car, but it will happen with this vehicle. Buy it, enjoy, sell it, and move on. If you can afford this car, than you can also afford to lose money on it. 10 years ago, I visited a Ferrari dealership in Illinois. The sales guy said, "I tell all my clients, you're not buying a building, you're buying a car, which will depreciate. I want to make sure you understand that." I know it's common sense, but hey you only live once. I also justify it, by sending my kids to public schools. I went to private school, what a waste of $$$
Any insights you can share to those of us that are waiting patiently to set eyes on this thing? If it is to be a worthy successor the thing must be a real beast both on the road and on the eyes.
well, uk dealer was correct..its out and called the 488..... still love the bianca italia 458 with grigio roof......may have to get it...if they'll come down in price a bit....up for 199k GBP....WHAT WOULD THEY NEGOTIATE TO NOW THE NEW OBE IS OUT??? MINIS 10 - 15 ON TICKET??
