This is an amazing project! Maybe I missed it, but have you ever considered getting the CS vents for the clear engine bonnet?

Almost too boring an update to comment upon but glad to see you're still looking after her! :D

Love the battery without any terminals. Induction technique?

Your car looks great! With I had the talent to do THAT much "tinkering".
I am trying to remove my wiper arms so I may re paint them as the fronts are pitted with white nicks on the front of them.
    Drives Me Nuts!
I wanted to remove the entire arm...I removed the bolt and washer...and see another washer and I cannot budge it.
I read you need some type of pressure to get it off...i tried to push down with a screwriver...nothing. can you help before i scratch or damge something!

    Thanks....Anthony

Thanks Aldous, your procedure above was perfect for me, swapped out the stock ARB for the CS/Scud version this evening. A good dollop of heat and a bit of drifting was just the ticket.

    Thanks again!

I had a bit of a disaster the other day - I noticed that there was a couple of gouges in my nearside front alloy :( I only have myself to blame as nobody else has driven the car but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how or when it happened.

In my total disgust at myself I forgot to take any pictures of the damage but suffice to say I needed a file to take off the edges of the gouge and metal filler to fill it in....

There was damage to the rim...

    ... and a spoke...

Filled, rubbed down and masked up:

I used a modelling airbursh to touch the paint in. Fortunately I was given a pot of paint from when the wheels were sprayed grey.

    Wet paint on...

Once it was fully dry the masking was removed and the repair became invisible. I had to put a piece of tape on the tyre to remind me where the damage was. Crisis averted!

Nice work V. The biggest hurdle to overcome is any nervousness about having a go. I like the wee spray set up, very nice.

You've a load of weights on that wheel. Is it possible the tyre wasn't put on properly? Normally there's a dot to indicate correct placement alongside the valve and if not mounted correctly can cause an excessive number of balance weights to be required. Not the end of the world I accept, just noticed! :)

Great job with the 360. I think we all wish we had the very particular set of skills you have acquired over the years to do the same kind of work on our own cars. Not only would it make me proud but would also save a hell of a lot of money if I could do it.
    Keep up the tremendous work.

Those tyres were on the wheels when I bought them. I had Tony @ WIM check the wheels for trueness and they are good. I guess the tyre is dodgy or badly fitted - either way there's only one more track day left in them and then I can get on the MPSS.

An excellent choice. Superb road tyre, excellent in the wet and hold up very well (with the right pressures) on track. You'll love 'em.

Just spent the morning in the freezing cold being snowed on! And this is the reason why - a damaged side skirt from a rock in the Welsh mountains...

The skirt is going to fellow 360 owner and expert painter Sheldon to be repaired. This is what I was left with in parts...

...and here's how the car looks now.

The step by step procedure is on my blog here. I know the car is filthy, it's just not the weather for a deep clean yet!

I simply used rattle cans from my local motor factors - high build primer then satin black. Nothing more special than that, sorry!

This is awesome, did you originally paint the wheels and is that how you can match the spot paint repair so perfectly?
I wish resolving curb rashes was as easy as you make it - any secrets to getting it to blend?

Thank you for the kind words. I didn't paint the wheels myself but did get a pot of left over paint from when they were done in the grey.

The modelling airbrush sprays a pretty focused area so paint isn't going all over the place. I also curled up masking tape at the edges in order to prevent straight edges between the old and new paint. However, the thing that was in my favour was that the paint was a matt finish which is much easier to hide new paint on.
