It's certainly interesting and could be cool. Not sure Silverstone would be too pleased and I can't see the UK getting 2 races unless Asia implodes... oh - wait a minute...

I think the populace around London would make for a very interesting F1 race in London or nearby. I would happily attend! Very very unique.

I can't help but think that squeezing F1 racing into an olympic stadium would make for a rather cramped track and unexciting racing, though it would be cool to see (and hear!) all the F1 cars inside a stadium.

I think it would be a novelty. If it happens, I don't see it being lauded for the racing it produces.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

The plan is to have he track use the roads within the Olympic park with a small section that runs through the actual stadium.

Isn't that event entirely in the stadium though? Thus, not quite apples to apples.

    Dude! :)

The regulations specify that an F1 circuit must be at least something like 4KM (?) in length - As 4renut noted, it'll come in to the stadium, maybe a little wiggle or two, maybe a hairpin then exit.

    Nothing like the ROC thing!

However, my initial thought was to check this isn't April 1st! It'll *never* happen - They (The "Legacy Board") will make WAY more money converting it to a football (soccer) stadium - It'll get regular use rather than a once a year GP - Assuming Bernie even gives 'em one. Then there's the question of noise.......

I honestly believe this is one of Bernie's infamous "wind-ups".

    Cheers,
    Ian

By 2020 we'll have a race every single weekend and will have to start holding races on Wednesdays!

Considering the way F1 is going,... in another few years they will be racing golf carts anyway. Perfect for a stadium. ;)

Whoa, this thing is really being discussed? I thought it was just the way SKY was advertising a viewer contest...

However, I wouldn't be surprised if they changed the rules to go with a ROC style race just for the show... and that would be very bad, DTM does that (last Sunday actually in Munich), and it is BORING as hell!
