I think the best mods for the F355 would be a twin turbo. The F40 is an 8 cylinder twin turbo that puts out 475 bhp and it's a 2.9 litter engine.
I have to agree. 10psi with big intercoolers should get a 355 to about 550-600hp. And still be quite streetable. Darrell.
Now someone is talking sense! Without modifying the head, very little can e done as the motor is fairly close to its maximum sustainable output. Just compare it with other 3.5 liter N/A motors. Acura is getting 295/300 hp from its 3 liter TSX motor used in Grand Am in the US. And that's a racing motor with factory support and big investments. But the real issue for the US contingent is that to get the Shumie type power you must run genuine (non ethanol) 100 octane fuel which where obtainable in the US is a 2X cost of the Premium swill we buy at the pump. I know the 5 star stuff is available in the UK and using that stuff only, head work (modest clean up porting plus ceramic coating of the inlet manifolds), headers, test pipes and either a Tumi or Challenge exhaust with a remapped ECU, should add 7-10% getting the car close to 400. Noise, fuel availability and emissions testing may however conspire to preclude the use of the car on the road.
Yes in theory but huge $s to develop and perfect. My guess based on the Norwood TR/512 is North of $250K on a fully costed basis. Meaning that if you own your own shop you would compare that price to a retail cost. BTDT with Audi and would fully expect a price 2X my historical Norwood guess. Not worth it except as an engineering exercise that would also require the install of Challenge brakes, stiffer sway bars and never mind the body work changes to accommodate the larger fluid cooling requirements.
Funniest thing I have read on here in a long time! The Weasel will be wearing a pirates eye patch soon..... To heck with the BB gun!
Bruce was deadon with the seats...if you think a GTB/GTS seat has some weight. Just wait until you pick-up a Spyder seat....you'll have to rent a fork lift to get this fat girl out.
I know the carbon race seats are much lighter but it would be great to have someone make a carbon frame to fit the original skins into. The carbon race seats are very uncomfortabale for everyday driving.
The CF sport seats are not bad comfort wise and are extremely light(very close to a one piece CF race seat if you opt for the lw fabric vs leather)...they have back angle adjustment and if you are recovering you can play around with the padding and even rig up a bladdwe for lumbar support.
The problem with the F355 is wheel spin. No matter what we do to the engine to increase power the 0-60 will not improve unless someone can develop wheel spin control. So a good modification in my opinion will be in that area where take off will be direct without any wheel spin. I think the F430 in europe has what they call "launch control" it cuts the 0-60 from 4.0 sec. to 3.5 sec. Now that's the type of modification I would like to see.
Fat chicks????? Weasel is locked and loaded eye patch is on!!!!!! Check this out! Image Unavailable, Please Login
LOL! nasty! Only good thing with her is if you have creased trousers, run em through her crack and they come out pressed!
