Big favor to ask for early AM Mon. 06/14

    Hi guys,

    because of the stupid incident at R.O.B. I am really hoping for a big miracle to happen: if anyone is free to ride out to Classic Coach, and to drive me back into the city or to JFK....

    I know I am asking a HUGE favor, and some may think this I am crazy.

    I want the car to be worked on this week, but my flight for LA is at 12 noon.
    I called to change to a later flight, but the total cost of change my ticket will be $1200.
    My other option is a) get CC to flatbed it there, which I dont mind doing
    b) getting a cab to drive me to NYC and then to JFK.
    But I figure I will try and ask first, afterall miracles do happen!

    I would like to get to Classic Coach between 8:30-9.
    Leave Classic Coach at 9:30, and get into the city or JFk at 10:30 or 11.

    In return, I will return this favor of dirving anyone to Classic Coach, or any
    Ferrari repair/dealer anywhere in the Tri-State at a ridiculous time of day or on any day, PLUS I will take you out to dinner/drinks on Friday when I get back, PLUS I will be eternally grateful.

    I completely understand if there are zero responses to this post, it is a big favor to ask.

    Jon, if I wasn't so busy getting screwed at work, I would be there in a heartbeat. Just remember that Classic Coach has generally flatbedded at no cost for recent repairs done by colleagues of ours -- especially if you plan on driving it back (when you return from LA).

    Just call them, and see what they say.

    Good luck. That sucks about the car. But it will be back to new soon.

    It's in the ROB pictures thread -
    "I'm probably forgetting a few cars, but there was an Eagle Talon and he did, in fact, cause a problem when he sort of spun and John Chen sort of hit him. It was a gentle hit, but a hit nontheless. At a rest stop up the road, the CT State Police did a police report and issued a ticket or two to the Talon driver. John is fine -- no tickets -- but his $10,000 carbon fiber challenge car grill and extra-capacity oil cooler setup will need complete replacement. ;-)"

    I have no idea who it was. I wasn't there either...

    See my post in the detailing-day thread -- I'm going to have to get my car flatbedded to CC on Monday morning (it's about 5 minutes away from them in NJ right now), so I'll drive out there in my own car and would be happy to give you a ride back into the city.

    Wow. Jon was this guy a stupid jerk trying to show off or a nice person? I can not believe this happened. You have only had the car a few weeks now

    Zach/Keith, bascially to make the long story short we were all driving fast then got the signal to slow down to do a slow pass by shot for brad in the
    "slow" lane, next thing you know the SOB talon guy zips past me, slams on the brakes, turns his steer wheel while braking, the car spins 180, i brake/pull to the shoulder, he slides across and hits me. the guy was driving reckless, he almost side swiped brad, before my incident with him. anyway, i am lucky that i or noone else was hurt yesterday.

    once again, i would really like to thank everyone for their support, and their
    help. i am very grateful.

    Who is this guy -- from your description, he seems reckless and a complete idiot? And why was he with the group? Did the event change to Running of The Donkeys?

    If there is any justice to be had, I heard he got two tix from the po-po later on?!

    He was there early at MMC.
    EVERYONE thought he was a friend of someone there, and did not question
    him. He had his purple eagle talon parked outside with the lambos and f-cars.

    Then when we got on the highway he went nuts, from what people told me,
    he was weaving in traffic, using shoulders, nearly side swiped Brade early in the run, and then hit me later.

    The SOB is young, 18, and stupid. He is very lucky. He could have gotten a head on collusion when he spun out 180 from the other cars that were behind him!

    Also, why would you excessively speed and brake in a 1996 Eagle Talon, with beat up tires.
    Nothing against non F-cars, but speed is one thing, but control is another, if you dont have the 2 DO NOT RUN WITH US!

    Anyway, dont want to make it a big deal and make this incident into a big discussion. I am lucky/happy that I wasnt hurt, had minor damage, and that
    I have great support and help from my F-chat Friends.

    That's not a HUGE favor. That's what I call a great way to start the week! A HUGE favor would be:

    "Guys, I just learned that I need $3.4MM by Thursday or else the Feds are gonna take away my 360 'cause I've been illegally selling cigarettes to pre-schoolers. Plus, I need a kidney because I'm a raging alcoholic. Can you come over here and rub my feet and tell me that everything will be ok? Oh, and Can I borrow $3.4MM?"

    That's an example of a HUGE favor.

    Oh, and if you need help... Lemme know, but I'm sure we'll talk about it at Pchops... and it seems like half the world is ready to frive you to Classic Coach on Monday.

    Jon as you have heard in the rest of this thread I would also be happy to drive you out to CC (I have to see this place cause I've heard so much about it). Unfortunately I'm in Northern NJ and have to be in my office Monday morning...otherwise I'd be there as well. Looking forward to seeing your car in let's say..."updated condition"!

    Glad to hear that you are okay as it could have been a lot worse. You are still with us and that is a good thing. :) Keep us updated on the damage report from CC.

    By the way, what did the kid say when he did this? Reaction?
