Told her she made the bed, now she will have to sleep in it. Meaning I warned her, Im going to come home wound up like a clock, going nuts, and putting everything up for sale for a Gallardo or a GT
Just got back from the World Driving event. Had lots of fun. First car I got to drive was the 430.ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW! This car blew me away. I have never driven a more perfect car in my life. There was not one single thing that I can think of that I didnt like. It looks great, it sounds great, it stops great. It was yellow, with black interior (yellow stitching). Next up was the AM V8. Loved it, until I drove it. Great loking car but it was much to quiet and smooth. Found it to be boring. 3ed was the Gallardo (putting flame suit on, I have a feeling I'm going to need it)(only my HO, so please dont hate me) Fast, fun, loud, would never say no to driving one again but found it lacking on a couple of points. The first was the interior. IMHO the 430 was so much better. The 2nd is going to sound a little weird but will try to explain. As loud as the car was when you were on it, it was the exact opp. when you were off the gas. It got so quiet that I found my self looking down at the tach alot to guage exactly where I was in terms of upshifting or downshifting. The 430 jusy felt right. I could hear and feel its every rev. I always felt like I knew exactly where it was just by listening. 4th as the SLR. Hard to get in and out. (Well for a fat guy like me anyway) Nice sound and really fast. A little twitchy. Very fast response in the steering. At one point I pulled out to pass a car in front of me. Just as I did I said to myslf Oh S@@@ the were 3 cars to pass and in the blink of an eye all 3 were gone. Scary fast. Last....the new GT3. Alot of fun, fast, revs like crazy. Very tight feeling, with great, quick response. Only part that I was disapointed in was that the Ford GT was not available. In a recent group of drivers, it got out of shape in 2nd gear and was the victim of meeting a cement wall. Only my thoughts on these 5. No offense intended.
It is funny how you say you had a nice experience...I was reading the info from the website and they say RULES: No Speeding, REVING or Burnouts...If you really have to follow those rules it is not fun at all, because I wouldn't want to pay to drive these cars slowly hehe. But anyway you got to drive them and I didn't lol Congratulations man. Did you take pics? If you did post them please.
Will try to post some pictures. Yes there are rules, and they keep an eye on you but we had some "fun". You know how these cars are, with out batting an eye, in a heart beart youre above the speed limit. I got lucky with the 430, nice open strech so we got "up" there a little bit but depending on the road you were on and the traffic conditions (MAIN REASON I DIDNT DO THIS IN NY) I saw a couple of guys in the 430 not able to let her go.
Greg, Sounds like you had a lot of fun! Next time do one of the GDC drives so you get a ride in a Murcie, a Vanquish and a GT3 for comparison. These types of drives are really cool, because you get to drive each of these cars back to back and get a sense how different they really are and which one you like the best and for what reasons. Hope to see you around again soon. How is the Cobra treating you?
Right up around the Hartford area. Did you see us? David the Cobras great. Having aot of fun with it. I have been doing the Captree thing on Sunday mornings with it but I dont know how much more the neighbors are going to take starting that thing up 700am.
