    I used to see these "haboobs" all the time as a kid growing up in Phoenix. I really don't get the reason why they get talked about so much now.

    These storms make a real mess.

    We had huge ones in Saudi Arabia when I lived there in the 1980's.

    I saw the beginning of it and later looked out my window and couldn't see anything. I STILL have dirt on my front door and my windows are still dusty, although we've had 2 other haboobs after that. I've been here since July '07 and have never seen a haboob, or experience a dust storm that bad.
