Ive been busy lately, and I haven't been on FChat all that much, but any news on Ricks' whereabouts? Hope all is well with him.
I spoke to him...His electricity and cable were cut last month. The economy has taken a toll on him, he lost his house this Monday and now he's living in the TR and his kids are living in the glass car. They've actually secured a spot in a trailer park North of Barrie. Unfortunately there are no services on his plot so he has to go to the internet cafe to check his email. He tried hitting me up for money but I told him to scram. He now fits into his surroundings with the track suit...Bubbles?
I think he rubbed some chatters the wrong way....I recall seeing a model-specific thread that got really nasty between him and some "DIY"ers...perhaps he was banned by the site owner or some "senior moderator"? The links to his posts have been wiped out...this reinforces my theory... Oh well - you can't please everybody ALL the time! But it sure got quiet here....
i think it fu(kin' sucks without him here. the bottem line is that a disproportionate number of cars are in desparate need of a lot of work, be it valve clearance adjusting, wheel bearings, fuse panels, control arm bushings or coolant leaks. he took it upon himself to be the champion of that message. it was always going to be an unpopular 'gig' , but he did it anyway. why some people took it personally doesn't make any sense to me...i guess the truth hurts. he is right though, and a $30K E-bay 308 is invariably destined for a lot work. that is not to say that you should that you should run away from it, but it ain't gonna run like it should, or once did. even a 2-valve injected 308 goes like snot when it is 'right'.
Thats good. But that doesn't explain where he is? Has he just abandoned FChat? Is he sick or out of the country ?
Maybe he has a life? LOL! He's probably just caught up with things that are of greater priority than FChat... I'm sure he'll be back soon, tracksuit and all.
I agree with Brett and Walter. It would be great to have him back. And his theories do make sense. Either wat everyone has their own right to their opinion. He was not banned. From what I understand he is taking it easy. I spoke to him a few weeks ago and all is well with him and his family and that is what matters. I am sure he is enjoying life, his cars etc. I have emailled and even texted him with no reply. I havent heard from him and hope he comes back to join us. Jay keep us posted dude. +1.
