I just want to throw a shout out to Dave C. (Bertocchi here on Fchat) I recently had back surgery and he was kind enough to help me get my winter tires on to my G-35 Sedan. Just in time for the snow! He also helped me with my Finace's car in an emergency when it had some cooling issues. While at his shop you can see the level of work he does on F-cars and othe vintage italian marques. (he had some really cool cars in for resto) I can not wait to get my F-car in the next few months as he will be doing the services for me. Its great to have a well known and I dare say an affordable ferrari resource here in New England.

Not only did Dave help me get the new snows on the car, he helped me get my summer set back to my garage and unload them for me as I was not allowed to pick up anything heavier than a phone book at the time.

My shameless plug for Him... Take your F-car to him, he made me feel like familia...

    Thanks again Dave!

Another vote for David here! He is the man! He has done plenty of work on my fcars over the years and I have nothing but confidence in his work. (Sorry about that little oil puddle in your parking lot David! Bad horsie!) And all the cool cars in his shop are reason enough to give him a visit!

Couldn't agree more, Birdman! David has a high degree of attention to detail and really does the job right!! I feel that he treats my car as if it were his own and I never have to worry about his work!!

I couldn't recommend David highly enough! (and his rates are really reasonable!)

Another thank you for David - He replaced the fuel pump in 308 GTB - and under difficult conditions too - it was a house call and let's just say the conditions he had to work under were primitive. He's very innovative.

I don't think anything in this thread was meant as an advertisement. Besides, that would be for the moderators to decide, not someone 1,500 miles away from the shop being mentioned.

This forum is great because of people like David and those that have posted in this thread. I don't think there is anything more valuable than hearing first hand about an honest, qualified and reasonably priced local mechanic/auto body/paint shop, etc...
Anyone can open a book and learn about the differences between a 308 and a 328. But, the benefit of a "community" like this one is having people who are willing to help each other or possibly (like this thread) point others in the right direction when they need help.

So, with that said, I would also like to express my appreciation and admiration for David and his abilities. He helped me out a few years ago with some free advice for an issue I had with my 328 and then squeezed me into his schedule to get the repairs made prior to my selling the car.

    Ouch...tough crowd!

The guy goes out of his way to help a fellow fchat-er after surgery by lending his time and shop resources - I think that is worth the public acknowledgement in the New England section!

Dave did the major service on my Serie Speciale this summer and is rebuilding the brakes on one of my older Porsches right now. He's worked through some glitches with my 348's AC/heat system while also following up on his work to make sure everything is 100%

Thanks for helping a brother out Bertocchi...Your Hallmark card is in the mail!

I disagree 100% - if someone has a good experience and can post a recommendation, it helps the community. Trying to make a living doesn't warrant a great thank you post, exceptional service and expertise does.

    -1 for Mr Montana

    +1000 For Bertocchi

When I had some threads bunged up on an intake project I was working on this past spring, David expertly rectified the problem. It was not an easy job considering the angle needed to do the job perfectly. I found his shop to be well equipped and he has requisite mechanical and machinist experience to tackle just about anything you could throw at him. Plus he's an interesting hellava good guy.

    doody you funny bastard...merry xmas!

For the avoidance of doubt, this kind of thing is fine on a limited basis - this to me is a genuine example of a good deed. However, XYZ did a great service on my car at BSC, FoNE, IFS etc really doesn't help us. I'm fine with this stuff.

I agree, David's a craftsman, and a gentleman as this example illustrates. He's gone out of his way numerous times to help me and other members of the local Ferrari community with coaching & technical assistance, and with personal assistance. For example: I'd never have gotten the cover on my large car shelter if David & a few other members of the local ferrari gang hadn't spent a Sunday afternoon helping me.

I've been following his restoration of a 212 Lusso with awe. The amount of time he's spent researching obscure details to ensure correctness is simply amazing. A lot of the things he's spent lots of time on will never be seen unless something's disassembled, but it's there & correct.

If I couldn't fix something on my 308, I'd take it to Bertocchi!!!

+1. I've seen Bertocchi help people in need time and again. Not only is he a damn fine Ferrari mechanic who I would always trust with my car, but he also deserves some recognition here as 'one of the good guys'. So I disagree, Mr Montana, I do want to hear about times one of our own goes above and beyond.

David's done great, cost effective work on my car too - but what I really appreciate is the time he's taken to help me tackle some of the smaller jobs myself. The man knows and loves these cars.

I would like to thank everyone for the kind words. I am truly humbled by them. Mine is a small one man operation. Getting the repairs done right is a given but meeting clients expectations is the challenge. I take it very seriously. If I can be of assistance to anyone please send me a note [email protected] or call me at 978-317-5303. Saturdays I am in for social visits also. Just call and let me know your coming. I had a great meeting with an Fchatter a few weeks ago. He is kind of quiet here but boy did he know his stuff when we spoke. It was a great time and that is what I think FChat is all about, making new friends, and sharing he appreciation for these great cars. I have been blessed on both accounts.

    Buona Natale a tutti! David
