Just this morning on the way into work, I am driving on a 1 lane road with a 40mph speed limit. Some guy is driving at about 37. I wait for a passing zone (dashed line), and I pass him, with plenty of room behind, and in front of him. As I pass him, he has his hand on the horn. Then when I get to the red light, he rolls down his window and is yelling his a$$ off. I just gave him the 1 finger salute without ever having rolled down my window, and went on my way.

I just don't understand this at all. What do drivers like this expect............they decide to drive UNDER the speed limit, and everybody behind them has to follow suit? If they get passed, what, are they offended? Or they feel like they are resetting the speed limit for everyone else, and if you go ahead and pass them, they have the right to honk at you? WTF????

Every jerk off like this should be forced to spend a week in Europe, on the Autobahn or Auto Strada. See how tolerant they are of anybody blocking the passing lane, even for 1 second. They are all over you in a heartbeat. Boy, do I miss Italy! :)

Why would you do that? If they are doing so unsafely, meaning too close, then that is a different story entirely. Otherwise, would you still do that?

If I am on a 1-lane road, and someone wants to pass me, go ahead and pass me. I don't honk at them for doing so, I don't give them the finger.............who am I to do anything at all, unless they do so in an unsafe manner.

If I am on a multi lane highway, I pass in the left lane, and immediately get out of it. If I am passing many cars, I am checking my rearview mirror constantly. If someone comes up behind who is going quicker, I make sure to get out of their way, and do so quickly enough where they don't have to slow down.

I don't understand the logic of some people, it just baffles me. Why is it so difficult for people to drive properly and courteously?

Weird that they put them on the front. I've heard (and seen) them doing it on the rear only. Why? Supposedly they do this as a sign that they are hardcore superduper street racers and because they think they are drag racers and they don't want to wear out their FWD tires so they put the stock wheels on front and bling bling rims on the rear. But I agree it is very annoying

    This happens ALL THE TIME.

These sleepwalking/driving road rage dum****s go postal, hunting me down the road and sometimes jumping out of their car to attack me. I do nothing to provoke such violent behavior either (not that violent behavior is justified by provocation). I'm not tailgating before I pass, I don't stare them down, etc... they just lose it!

One time, for example, a car was going 10 under the limit (backroad, no traffic) so I passed. It was a mature women in new Mercedes with young daughter. I knew this because they sped up immediately, got next to me so I could see them, did the fake "I'm gonna ram you" swerve thing, flipped me off and followed me for miles.

Nothing new. I've had guys in trucks jump out with a weapon. I got choked once with the top down. I'm gonna start shooting back soon.

Also, I like how they speed up once I'm in front of them... as if to say "I was gonna go fast but had to wait for my TURBO to kick in, and now you're blocking me!"

    People like you.

The more you tailgate the slower I drive
I hope you realize it's a speed limit not a speed minimum
I even drive at around 5 above the limit and still people tailgate
The funny thing is, the way I cruise along, I usually get all the green lights, while the stupid f*cks who tailgate and drive way over the limit always catch the red lights, and I pass right by them again. I almost always get places faster than them ...
Anyways I know there might be a serious and urgent reason to drive quickly so I usually just get out of the way, and I never get angry if people pass me, in fact I'm a lot happier when they pass than when they tailgate, but if you are extremely close then you're just f*cking retarded and I'll drive slower to piss you off.

I don't care what speed you drive, as long as you are in the appropriate lane on a multi-lane highway or street. If you are in the PASSING LANE, and not moving out of it if I am trying to pass, then I will get close enough to you where you should know I am trying to pass. If you brake test me in such a situation, I will become absolutely livid, and you are the ******. If you still don't move out of the lane at 1st opportunity, then you are the ******. If I have to pass you in the right lane, then you are the ******.

If we are on a 1-lane road, I would not tailgate, nor will I cut you off. However, if I do pass you, and you give me the finger for the sole reason of me passing you, then you are the ******.

Miami was voted #1 for rude drivers this year. I go down that way every spring and I tell you people on I-95 are NUTS!! I often get passed like I am standing still when I am doing 80. Funny how almost all of the pet peeves revolve around driving, which are most of mine as well.

How about some non-driving related pet peeves??

    Mine:
Smoking cigars in bars like you are Mr. Important.
People using the word "seen" when it should be "saw".

    Pet peeves;

When people talk so loudly on their cell phone where everyone else has to hear them.

When I go out for lunch in a very busy place, and there are people still occupying a table and all they are doing is working on a laptop, probably finished their lunch an hour ago.

When people go to Starbucks and essentially set up a little office, as if they work out of there.

When you make a reservation at a restaurant, and you still have to wait a half hour.

    Luke warm beer.

My co-worker. I hate her.. no really, I really, really hate her. She's the only person I've ever met in my life that I would classify as CERTIFIABLE!

Oh, and cats that dress up as chickens.

Haha.. sorry, just wanted to break the ice! It's getting a little intense in here! :D

You asked for it! Keep in mind I'm very laid back and hate drama.. kinda like a guy, so I don't understand most of this moody/emotional woman bs.

    Here we go...
Calling eating disorder helplines talking about how she drank too much on purpose and threw up because she didn't want people thinking she was struggling with bulimia again, but just drank a lot.. when in fact she is. Then she calls and books Dr. appointments because she's gained so much weight since her wedding in April. She thinks something's medically wrong. Maybe I should save the China Wok and Papa John's receipts and show them to the doctor. :) DRASTIC ups and downs. She said to me that she's off her birth control and that's the only thing that keeps her sane and I'll just have to deal with it. Are you f***ing serious? She was talking to our boss today about how she's not typically an emotional person.. yeah, right. HYPOCHONDRIAC! Last week she went to the ER b/c she said she was having chest pains. She made her husband come to pick her up with her little brother so he could take her car home. She's seriously the biggest drama queen ever and she's a recent newlywed at 21. EVERYTHING is an issue. She got our other co-worker fired. She's the biggest suck up EVER and has to be in the limelight. She cannot share responsibility with me, although she's supposed to. She's constantly going to management about me. Apparently I'm a really awful person and make her cry on a daily basis, I have no idea what I do. Ha. We've had to have interventions because of her psychosis and inability to work with me. I have my own office again. I'm not the type to ***** to my superiors, it's work, not a daycare. I get an attitude from her first thing in the morning. Her husband is the nicest guy ever, naturally, I don't understand why he deals with her. She's got a tiny, ugly dog and talks about it to fill the spaces between her daily rants, drama, and stories of health issues. I have tried to be nice to her day in and day out and she's a total CUNextTuesday. In summation, I hate her.. and I am NOT a mean, hateful person. I have seriously come so close to knocking her out it's not even funny, if it were anywhere but at work (or church), I would, promise. :)

For a while there were 4 women walking abreast every morning on our residential street. Not on the sidewalk, not close to the curb or close to each other, we are talking half the road. If you beeped them they would s l o w l y move over. They wanted you to pass them in the opposing lane. If you hit them, your fault. If you get in an accident on the wrong side of the road, your fault. Talk about fr*cking idiots.

BTW, there is WAY too much road rage going on in this thread. Peace out. :)

I think your co-worker is in the wrong job. If a person does not have the natural aptitude for a certain type of work, then they will watch the clock and come up with the kind of distractions you describe. You know you're in the right job when it seems like the time flies by. My advice is help her find a better job at a different company. One that better fits her personality. It sounds like she needs more purpose in her life. I suspect there is something missing with her, a void that she needs to fill with the drama episodes. Good luck.

She needs attention from everyone at all times. She chats up customers, especially the men, and posts on those weird help forums for people with disorders. She decided to tell me about it because she knows I diet.. that doesn't mean I have an eating disorder, ass clown. Ha. I poked around and saw that they can send each other hugs and basically whine and gripe about their lives, bunch of attention starved freaks. She has male pen-pals, etc. She just craves attention because she had a rough childhood, blah blah. She IMed me to tell me that she's starting therapy with THREE different doctors. WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS, YOU PSYCHO?! OMG I just can't believe she thinks she's got a leg to stand on when she complains to people about me for doing God knows what. One day she sent a nasty IM about me to me instead of another co-worker. Oh, and she hates that I talk to my bf on IM all day long, although it doesn't affect her. Ugh, she's so irritating! The only thing she has going for her is her looks, and she's ruining that with her atrocious eating habits. Whatever, I'm moving in 3 months.

Crap. Maybe I'm just as bad for ranting about her. Where's my hug and anti-depressant?

I hate people that will stop on a main road and wave some one on a side road at a stop sign through an intersection This happened to me just after I got a nes 540 six speed. A guy going the opposite way stopped and wave some one through an intersection just as I was passing. T boned the guy as he puled out from a stop sign. When I asked him why he did taht he said another driver waved him through. I see this happening two or three times a week.

I work for an online cell phone company that works with 17 different providers. To put it simply FRAUD calls piss me off the most. Kids & taking their parents info to place a order, if not worst people using stolen info for two year contracts. How many people try to order five T mobile Wings & say they were born in 1929 with a email address like [email protected]? Yeah right.
