Going North on the West Side Highway, right after the exit for Dykman St, the Bridge and Tunnel cops hide behind the median for the on-ramp onto the Highway. The speed limit goes from 50 to 35 in the matter of a few feet and then to TEN mph before the toll!!! Anyway I got nailed doing 74 in a 35, the Sgt was a total ******bag. I already hired a lawyer (http://www.trafficlawyer.com/). Unfreaking believable. Just beware, and don't forget it goes 50mph to 35mph to 10mph!!

    A) They've been camping out there for years.

    B) Frank DeSousa is the only attorney you should ever use for NY-related traffic tickets (http://www.ticket-problems.com/pages/about.html)

    C) You should hang out with more NYPD Highway Patrol cops like the rest of us

But seriously...sorry to hear you got nailed. MTA B&T cops are definitely the worst when it comes to 'tude ... they've got the biggest chip on their shoulders and feel like they have the most to prove.

Yep, that's a notorious trap. I always slow down when I go up that way (I used to every day when I still lived in Westchester). It is also one of the few nice stretches of road in all of NYC. Good luck.

It's a good thing he did not find joey's dead hooker in the trunk.

Noah - i used frank once before with success, but this time opted for john levine. He specializes in nyc traffic law.

Your more then happy to find other friends. Even those of another Ethnicity.
Maybe as they rant and rant on to the cop, I can sit back and enjoy the experience.

that's it I am posting an ad on craigslist! "small Pakistani man with lead foot seeks cop willing for out-service help. No local township cops need apply."

Actually I also gave him a couple other card and that REALLY did not help.

Btw, can we do a dinner for rich or are you going to be an FJB about that too?

dave - my one concern about frank is his ability in court. Apparently in NYC there is no plea bargaining so I have to go trial and hope that the lawyer can find some inconsistency in the officer's testimony to not meet the burden of proof. The only technicality i can hope for is not recieving a response in the mail (consequently this how frank got me off a ticket a few years ago). This nice little present is 8 points!

Dinner with Rich has Nothing to do with your ability to piss off 99% of the population of F-Chat. And anyways.... The Corvette Forum is planning a nice send off for Rich. So he should be happy!!!!!!!! Are you joining us?

There is no plea bargaining, but if the cop doesn't show the required amount of times...

    you get off!

I don't have time to go back again and again to court, so I just gave the ticket to DeSouza and they did it for me. Give a call, what can it hurt???
    His office number is: 516-505-7715

    Best of luck ;)
