Wow. She's amazingly lucky she wasn't hurt too bad. My buddy clipped a car pulling out at maybe 25mph and shattered his hip plus a bunch of other, smaller injuries, but that's crazy!
On tape it happens so fast, but when it happens to you it seeemms sooooo excruiatingglly slooooww. The second part of the vid is how it looks from the riders perspective. Interesting. Glad to see she was riding with full leathers = SMART!
I would have done EXACTLY what she did in the same situation. There are others on the SoCal site that are trying to tell her she should have done this or that...she saw that tiny opening between the Civic and the car in the right lane and went for it and got T-boned in the process. Glad to see that she wasn't hurt badly and is in pretty good spirits...on the same thought what an a$$ driving the Civic.
WTF happened to the civic i mean its pretty hard to lose controll of a FWD 120hp car did he blow a tire or something?
Reading the posts related to the incident, that camera really did pay for itself since the cop told her that the Civic driver was saying that she hit the Civic. BTW, since Lamour is too busy tending to his wife's new additions, let me just say that the young woman who got out to help had a mighty fine set on her.
I love the way fxxk nuts gets out of the car way after she got hit and casually walks over...no big deal. He deserves a kick in the head !
At one point in the vid I thought someone was trying to take her helmet off -- that was scary. Wouldn't that make a bad situation really bad, you survived the crash but now you're dazed and confused and a bunch of morons think they are trying to help by pulling off your helmet and paralyzing you. Thats why I wear a sticker on my helmet, but if they don't read it (or the don't read english), well, you're ****ed
In the SoCal form the rider said that several of the other people on the highway were registered nurses so I don't think that they would let some moron try to take the helmet off. Nobody said anything about a tire blowing out or anything like that with the Civic...it looks to me like he was probably talking on the phone and looked up and saw brake lights and locked them up tugged the wheel hard to the right and lost control of his car...what an idiot. I agree with the comment on the nice set on the bystander I also agree with the comment on the Civic driver and a kick to the head.
If all motorcycles and cars had video as standard equipment, we could save a lot of court time. It was sure strange how the driver of the car hit the brakes for no apparent reason. I didn't see brake lights ahead or traffic stopping all of a sudden.
yeah.. she hit the car..... that was facing the wrong way in her lane with 4 wheel skidmarks leading up to where it stopped... video or no, the Honda car driver would have had a hard time selling that one.
