I had all of my cars, my house, and my boat with Allstate. When I bought my R6 last year, they wanted something like $1,000 for insurance. I called Liberty Mutual, and they wanted around $350, but I would have to include at least 1 of my cars. So I put all of the cars with them. My step-daughter got rid of her car and bought my wife's old car. My renewal statement for the cars came, and the bill was for something like $5,600, up from around $2,500! A ridiculous increase! I had no choice but to cancel with them. I found a quote through Progressive for my bike at around $500, and they don't require that you put anything else under them. I put my cars back with Allstate.

Who do you use? What kind of rates are you getting with them, for what kind of bike, and do they require that an auto be insured with them as well?

My family uses Metropol. Direct. It is something like 660/6 months on our Family Fcar. I never asked them about a bike though.

    Hi Dan,

For my cars/house I use Wawanesa insurance, very well priced, based out of San Diego.

For my bikes I use Motorcycle Services LLC based out of NY. They do not require me having a car with them. I pay 26/month for my Ducati 748, 19/month for my 98 gixxer 750 and 24/month for my other gixxer 750.

Thus 828$ for 3 bikes per year, with full coverage (since there are so many freaking uninsured motorists in CA). 100$ deductible on theft and collision. 21 years old, 0 accidents, 0 tickets, all garaged, 2500 miles each.

    Hope that helps.

I carry only liability on all bikes I own, regardless of price as I figure if I toss it hard the cost of the bike will be peanuts compared to missed work, medical bills etc. $154 per year per bike with Kemper (or more likely one of their subsidiaries).

I use AAA for my car and motorcycle. The bike only added about $450 a year with full coverage.

From what I've read, if you have State Farm, they insure your motorcycles for no additional premium over your cars (and house for homeowners).

That's not true. They will only insure your bikes if you have cars and/or homes with them. However, you have to pay the additional premium. I pay $42 a month for my 998, although I might switch it to my dealership.

Im high risk because of my addiction to speed and insurance for me to get a Gixxer 600 is insane. :( :( . I might jsut have to get a 4 wheeler or a Dirt Bike instead. :( Last time I was this depressed was when I wrecked my Impala.

How much younger are you then me? I quoted my prices above, as I have gixxers albeit 750, which should be more than 600s since bike insurance is dependant on cc.

Hmm strange as I am only one year older than you, and I live in Los ANgeles, and my insurance is significantly lower than yours. Interesting.

Were you referring to me as someone Vietnamese? If so, may I ask you what led you to that conclusion (not saying whether I am or not yet)?

If that part was not directed towards me, disregard above message. :)

I understand the part that your gf is Vietnamese. I was wondering how she or you came to the conclusion that I was Vietnamese?

No big deal, but I would like to know.

Yes you are. You can tell your gf that there are 3 members who have a Vietnamese background on this forum that I know of, but to her dissapointment I don't come from said background.
