Hello all -- sorry to post off-topic here but I need some quick local help. A colleague (who I am trying to convince to join the Ferrari owning world) is picking up a 1200cc BMW bike (not sure of the model but MY circa 2000) this Saturday in Garden City, and wants to flat bed/truck it out to Bethlehem, CT. I think the trip is about 100 miles. Any recommendations for someone good and reasonable?

Also, anyone have any idea how to jump start this bike?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm probably taking him to get the bike in the Fcar (though will use something else to jump it).

    Cheers,
    J.

Other than this Saturday, if it is in running order and has a plate, I'll ride it.

You dont need a flat bed. A regular pick up truck with a 6 or 8 foot bed would be fine. Then you just need about 4 tie downs. I have the tie downs, but no more truck. I got rid of my last one last summer or you could have borrowed it.

You can use a regular jump box or jumper cables to jump start it. Or you can push it and pop the clutch to get her going.

Thanks Ciao and Jdogg -- I'll pass both your comments on to my friend.

Just in case he insists on a pick up truck or flat bed, any of you other Fchatters can come to the rescue (with names/suggestions is fine)?

    Cheers,
    J.
