    I want to publicly thank Bill Noon, of Symbolic Motor Car Company in California, for helping me at the recent RM auction in Monterey. Bill went out of his way at the last minute, and without any advance notice, to inspect a “No Sale” car that was offered to me post-auction and share his knowledge. Other than being on Symbolic’s email distribution for ticklers about new inventory, Bill and I have had no business or personal connections. I was virtually a complete stranger to Bill, yet he took time out of his hectic schedule to immediately answer my cold-call email message (I was a phone bidder not in attendance at the auction) asking for his assistance, and then followed up by doing exactly what he said he would do in the time he said he would do it in. Bill is a dealer, so had an ulterior motive for gaining favor with a potential customer by helping me that he admitted to right off the bat. I appreciated his candor. This “please think of me in the future” was Bill’s only charge for his valuable help. Bill sells a lot of cars, and you can’t please everyone all the time, so perhaps others have had a different experience, but all I can say is that mine was absolutely first rate and totally professional. THANKS, BILL! And I will definitely remember you for the future!

    365 BB. Will post info in the Boxers/TR/M section soon. The car was just delivered Friday. I hope to get a little seat time this weekend so I can offer some driving impressions. I will post a link in this section. I'm hoping the BB will be a nice contrast as well as complement to my 365 GTC.

    Hi Scott,

    I promise, my motives are always purely selfish.

    Sometimes doing min favors like this leads to future business.

    Other times it gives me access to new clients or cars I would otherwise not have access to.

    In any case, make one guy happy one day and he will likely tell five friends the next day.

    The internet and this site just made that kind of networking allot easier.

    Just after the no-sale, I said some things about this car that I probably should not have and feel much better that I actually took the time to look it over carefully and patiently the next day.

    Better for the new custodian to speak about this one first hand but lets just say in a weekend where there were few deals to be had, I consider this one to have been a major coup!
