This is why we can’t have nice things, Mississippi.

Unfortunately the event today was cut short due to people using Hwy 90 and the service road to do burn outs and drive recklessly. In addition, this last started banging on a police car and slapped an office … classy ‍♂️

Wow, Ferraris and Lambos at a local Biloxi car meet. MS Gulf Coast has come a long way since I grew up there! Sorry to hear about the hooligans

I grew up there also. What years did you live on the Coast?

I grew up in Ocean Springs. My Dad worked in Pascagoula. I lived there until I was 17. It was a really great place to grow up.

I grew up in Gulfport. My father was the director of the Marine Education Center at the foot of the Biloxi Ocean Springs Bridge.

I DJ'd at several radio stations and clubs on the Coast.

There is definitely collection of people on the coast with exotics - which was surprising to me when we moved here three years ago. Unfortunately we are in the process of relocating to St George, UT. That said, I see way more Lamborghini than Ferrari - I’ve actually only seen 2 other Ferrari, a black F12 and a silver F12. Lamborghini though…it’s not too uncommon to see one a week on Beach Blvd and someone here in Ocean Springs has a Urus.

Small world! I know the Marine Education Center very well, went there quite often as a kid. My sister, who works in commercial fishing here in RI, was there I think last year for an industry event. My dad was in marine related business as well - he worked at the Bird Johnson foundry (later acquired by Rolls Royce) which made propellers. The two radio stations I listened to as a teenager were 107.1 The Monkey and 97.9 CPR.

    I probably predated you.

I worked at 107.1 when it was Light Rock.

I also worked at 94QID, WVMI and Coast 102.

I worked at other stations with a DJ from Monkey, Reverend Red (Collins Powell)

Nice! It was pretty uncommon to see exotics when I was there, but the coast has changed a lot since. Ocean Springs is especially boogie now. I have not been back since 2014 (lived there 1990-2007) and was blown away by how much it change - lots of nice restaurants, Merc dealership in D'Iberville, etc. Was looking on zillow recently and home prices below I-10 quite pricey now, relatively.

That said, and contradicting myself a bit here, but there were not 1 but 2 Ferrari's in my neighborhood (Gulf Hills) when I was there. A 348 ts and a 308 GTSi. The 348ts was owned by a contractor from Canada. He was the nicest guy, gave me my first ride in a Ferrari, and we would hang out and watch F1 together on Sundays. He had a 911 as well. Unfortunately, turned out to be a criminal (fraud, check kiting) and went on the run. The 308 was owned by a local used car dealer (dealership was on highway 90). There was also a Testarossa and a replica Daytona Spyder owned by someone from Pass Christian I believe, but I only saw them twice (at Cruisin' the Coast).

Big change to UT - good luck with move.

Those are awesome memories you’ve got about growing up here - crazy story about the fraud ha! I would really like to have seen some classic Ferrari vehicles while down here - my 2007 430 is the oldest by far that I’ve ever seen.

Ocean Springs has definitely more boogie characteristics than we expected. Gulf Hills is just down the road - we are south on Washington, just across from St. Alphonsus church/school.

Small world for sure. Thanks for the well wishes.

My 308 was the first Ferrari in Cruisin' the Coast. I was a member of a club that helped organize the event in the early days.
