Found one of these in perfect condition, low miles, price is below 10k US dollars. Input, please?
Mechanicals: replaceable. Plastic, trim: not replaceable. Would be great fun, just don't toss it! It's not the one with the carbon fiber (partial) frame is it?
The price sounds pretty good, but for riding, the bike sounds unimpressive compared to what's available today. UroTrash is dead on about dropping it though.
i have ridden the yb 11. it is not real sharp handling and not as fast as bimotas have been known to be. the sb 6 is a better bike and can be had for a good price. the bodywork may be dear if you drop it. and all two wheel machines will soon go down!
Certainly one of the most practical of all Bimotas, with low-maintenance Yamaha engine and biposto. $10k actually seems a little high, there have been bikes on Ebay occasionally that sell for less. For the right bike of course it is probably worth it. The SB6R is my favorite of all the I-4 Bimotas, followed by the YB10, then the YB11. For twins though, the Tesi wins hands-down. Post some pics if you buy it.
Totally agree with your impression of the yb11. I would however also include the db2 and sb8/r to Bimota's better bikes. Regarding bodywork, you may be able to get replacement parts from Carbon Dream.
I must admit Bimota designs some of the sexiest machines out there and I feel rival Ducati asthetically...especially the Tesi. However, I'm kinda partial to naked bikes & cafe racers & I absolutely LOVE Bimota's Mantra: http://www.number1.co.nz/cars/bimota.htm Anybody ever see one in the flesh?
Yes. Not my cup of tea. Quite possibly one of the ugliest modern bikes in receont history. The Bimota Tesi is pretty good looking, but the best looking sportbike ever made (IMHO) is still the Ducat 748/916-998 series.
You are correct sir. This is the one with the carbon fiber (partial) frame - in my garage. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've seen a lot of pictures of Bimotas over the years, and I have to say yours is one of the nicest. Congrats! It's just not in the "right" garage........mine! Wes
