After watching the exciting F1 race at Bison Creek Pizza, some of us went on a little cruise down to Point Defiance. Thanks to Gary for leading the very fun drive south.

Here are two pictures from our stop at Point Defiance:

Nice pictures, Willis. It looked like the weather was great for you guys. I'm sorry I couldn't tag along for the drive, but duty and chores called. It WAS really nice to get down there for race and lunch and say hi to you, Gary, Frankie, Todd, and Chris. Too bad I didn't get to meet the others. I'm sure I will soon. See you guys soon!

My old stomping grounds! We used to cruise through there during the day and the "loop" in Puyallup at night in my high school days! I grew up about 5 miles from there (near UPS) but had an Aunt and Uncle that lived about three blocks just up from the park. There used to be some mean burnouts going up that hill from the beach!

Used to be you almost couldn't drive down there on the weekend there were so many cars. It was more like a crawl.

    Memories!!

    Thanks for the pics Willis!

    Hey John,

My old stomping grounds too... I grew up in Fife.

Cruised Puyallup (Herfy's, Tiffany's skating rink, etc.), 6th Ave in Tacoma, Owens Beach at the Point and all the hot spots back then.

I was 16 and my very first car was a 1957 Chev.

    Fun times!

    Gary,

    Which 57 did you have?
I knew a guy from Yakima who had a wrecking yard
    with only 55, 56 & 57 Chevy's. Les Lenington is his
name. I got to know him because I purchased Fruit
from him. He was a Grower/Packer. Nice Guy.

Those cars will always have a place in my Heart.

    Chuck,

Here's an old photo of my car in my parent's backyard, circa 1975.

It was a "210 Post" model. It had new paint, a freshly rebuilt 283, Holley, headers, 4-spd, Hurst shifter, "8-track" stereo, and custom bucket seats.

I bought it for the princely sum of $800, when I turned 16!

We had two Herfy's in Everett. Gut bombs for a quarter, with cheese.

My little brother bought his very first car when he was 15. A light yellow 57 Chev Belair for 500.00 in 1971. He still has it
