    squishy soft? silicone then, overenthusiastic application on the bellhousing, drop gear case or block/trans is usually the culprit. In reality since there are 'O' rings where the oil passages are the use of anaerobic or flange sealant is what should be used. Wurth and Permatex make the best ones IMHO.

    I've not seen the internals of a 328 gearbox or the Mondi gearbox with a pump but on the standard 308 box I can't think of a single piece of plastic inside the box.

    Thanks Guys...after some close inspection, the material seemed squishy like common sealant...not a plastic item like a bushing. I don't think there is a problem.

    No white plastic in the 3x8/Mondial gearbox. IMHO those are sealant beads & small enough &few enough to not be a problem.
