These are such pretty little cars, they really look the business.

How was it that an Opel unit was chosen to power it over, let's say, a more sophisticated and powerful Alfa, and where did the suspension etc come from?

I also note 2 different body-styles: one with the fender-vents a-la 5300, and one with the vents at the front of the door. Amazing at such a low production vehicle, they actually did some development?

Are there any differences noticeable between the true factory cars and the ones that were completed later from left over bits?

Opel had a number of companies build prototypes around some specs they developed. The Europa was Bizzarrini's bid. It was designed to have the Opel engine and suspension. Bizzarrini lost the bid and had some cars left over, so some received Fiat engines.

I sent him a message and he said it is chassi 025. It looks pretty clean but I don't know enough about these to say anything useful. Maybe others will chime in.

Agreed everything on Bizzarrini has a little mystery, but lets just look at what we have The seller say that this car was built in 1971, so that is not too long after the factory went BK. At that time both Bizzarrini and Diamonte had access to the molds and some left over parts. Diamonte built a number of 1900's even as late as 2000 I believe, and those cars all had factory made Bizzarrini parts on them. Lot of factory parts

So why would a car build right after the company closed have almost none?????
