BJ Auction, Palm Beach Fl April 17-19

I have also been there every year since the first one in 2003. I'm taking off work early Friday so that I can check it out, as I have my son for the rest of the weekend. I'd love to take him but at barely just 2 years old, he likes getting in the driver's seat of every single car he sees, including all of mine, all the time and it would be impractical. Besides from experience, once the cars sell, most new owners truck them out so that after Saturday night, there's really nothing else left - and its too crowded Saturdays during the day.

Below are just some of the pictures I took at Auctions America a week ago today at the Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center - there was a lot of cool machinery present.

Then 2 weeks ago today, my 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo that's been modified to look like a 1970's race car, which it pretty much is mechanically, was invited to participate at the inaugural Palm Event at Mar a Lago here in Palm Beach. It was a pretty cool event and happy to be there. As a matter of fact, I spent some time with Luigi Chinetti, Jr., who resides in the area, since his pristine 275 GTB was parked next to mine. Pretty friggin' cool...

 

Chinetti, Jr.'s GTB is the last Ferrari pictured below in burgundy... The silver 1981 400i in the background was recently purchased by the organizer of the event. I have already apprised him of this site in hopes he eventually joins. Next time I speak to him, I will ask that he provide me the VIN for it in order for those who keep track to get an update on it.
