Just noticed this today. Looks quite presentable, dash not warped badly, seats look slightly cracked (I think much is due to 'flash' from camera) but a gorgeous combo nonetheless. Nice Euro side markers and eared knock-offs, but front Horsey seems to be on all fours, drunk, and someone stole his tail.

Figured with all the "I LOVE BLACK BOXERS" comments on here of late, perhaps someone will help this car find a new home. Comment away!

Looks nice but no engine shots. Has an 84 steering wheel on it and the VIN is too high for an 82. I wondered what black with boxer trim would look like, thanks.

I too love the look of black Boxers. However, here in Georgia that black interior would be brutal with the barely marginal a/c in a Boxer.

Looks a little rough compared to Jesse's car - makes the mileage seem a little questionable, IMO.

I don't think it looks too bad. I don't like the black interior. I think it makes the car too monotone also I don't think anyone there spent the 10 hours washing, waxing, polishing, leather conditioning, etc that I did on my car that Saturday.

Hi Steve - What's wrong with the mirrors? Are they incorrect for the year?

I may be wrong Simon but they do not look like the original mirrors to me, however if it won a concours which i believe it did in the UK maybe they are. Difficult to tell from the pic.

Not to knock black but the Boxer loses something of it's character when there is not the contrast between the top and bottom color. Part of the appeal of the early 365 BB is the sharp color contrast of a red black car for example. I notice some of the early cars are being restored in a solid color rather than the correct two tone finish...

Steve - when I bought it it had one mirrir on teh drivers door and I needed one on the passenger door for driver comfort. I matched the original mirror with two new ones (so they matched in wear & tear) from Verdi, who fitted them for me - free of charge, thanks Karl. I beleive they are the correct Cavallino mirrors but I could be wrong. Car is an 18,000 mile car that is very original throughout, but the mirror could have be wrong of course.

I'm not sure of the year of the car, but the Californian mirrors were the period correct ones for the 512BBs according to my mechanic. That's why I got them switched from the big, hideous ones placed by the previous owner even though you can't see very much with them.

jessie, you are correct. i know w/o any doubt that the 512 bb mirors were vitaloni californian mirors as you stated.

the black show winner that steve posted also has the californian which as stated, are in fact correct.

Is this car yours??? I had no idea it was. Pete and Jesse are correct about the mirrors, the california is the correct one for the BB, they are also on my car. It was just from the picture the mirror looks slightly different with a heavier stem, but as I said hard to tell. I remember seeing this car on the FOC website I think, anyway I saved the picture as it is a great picture of a stunning car.

Simon that is what I hoped for, some different views. The side view doesn't tell the whole story. Were the big oranges lenses a market requirement or where the white lens discontinued?
It always amazes me what people will pay for personal lic plates over there. Plate 'MUS1C' was no bargain. Seems to be a thriving business. Your new plate sounds like a good choice. I notice the front plate always is mounted very low (about 2 inches ground clearance) on the 365 BB models. Thanks for the new pics!

I saw that car in Jan. when I purchased my cs from this same outfit. Good guys. Very helpful and imo honest. I would reccommend them. To be honest, the car seemed ok but I was in a whirlwind of cs lust so did not really look much. Like seeing a pretty woman when you had just fallen head over heels in love!
Talk to Nick or Carl and tell them I sent you with a big thumbs up.

The black BB on Ebay is nice, but be ready to pay the $125K the dealer wants for this car.

    Simon,

I always believe my own eye's, and almost always the owner, (and I am not doubting you of course), but according to the original build schedule your car was ordered with a Tan Interior with Nero inserts?

Now of course, this could have been changed at anytime before or after delivery, But I am fairly sure I saw a tan interior in #19343 during it's time in Chris Roberts ownership? I'll check?

Original records state always black/black. And was black inside Sept 1985 when brokered by me from Cooper via Simon Allen at Charles Ivey to George Goddard who paid £29,000.
