It looks like it has a radio. Is that a radio? Odd for a challenge car if it is.

It needs a lot of tax when it comes to US or Europe

Yes that is normal we have paid tax on every car we've ever imported. The tax is calculated by the cost paid for the car plus the shipping. The vat and duty costs would be different in each country in Europe.

Being a race car driver i can tell you that that is the most dangerous place to park your extinguisher. It's not for no reason that these are always mounted on the floor, on the passenger side, preferably as deep as possible in the front side too. Mounting these deadly projectiles, according to FiA regulations, needs to be done with serious bolts and metal traps to the chassis at any time. This one does not even have a metal strap around it, but sits semi loosely in a click system. Same goes for batteries and anything that can fly around in your car. It's easily changed so no big issue but i'd not drive a mile with this in my back.
(It's also impossible to reach in case of fire. You need to step out of the car first)

On topic: Great looking car. GLWS

Yes I agree but it's not a race car anymore it's now a road car. We will probably mount it under the bonnet instead so it's no longer in the cabin at all.

As far as I know, and there are experts here who can chime in, the original "Challenge" 355s were ordinary F355s. They were not produced as Challenge cars at the factory. On the contrary, they were regular production line F355.

Owners of the standard 355 could then purchase a Challenge kit from their local Ferrari dealer, have the parts installed, and go racing with their challenge car in the Challenge series.

However, at some point in late 1996 or 1997 Ferrari produced a special run of 355CH cars....actual factory built race cars.

Why? Because the 355 Challenge series was based on the OBD 1 355. However, for the series to continue through the production run of the 355 (on to 1999) Ferrari would produce 1997 and 1998 cars BUT with the old OBD1 engines/management systems. Of course, it would be illegal for Ferrari to sell OBD1 cars in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999, so these factory built 355CH were sold MSO only. These are the actual factory produced cars. The other 355 Challenge cars are simply converted regular production F355. So when people say numbers produced of nonfactory built cars it might be more appropriate to state number of cars modified versus factory produced Challenge cars.
