So I am in the UK this week (heading to the Aston Martin driving school tomorrow), and staying in what is obviously a very posh neighborhood near the US embassy. I went for a walk this morning and for about 8 blocks counted about 1/2 dozen Bentley's per block just randomly parked on the street, and equal number of Astons, AND 2-4 Ferrari's and Lambos per block! What struck me as most odd was that every single Ferrari I saw was black and I must have counted perhaps 2 dozen on my walk.

I have been to parts of the world with clusters of hives of black exotic cars (e.g the Ginza district of Tokyo), but when I see Ferrari's in those clusters, they are usually red, not so in London, at least not what I saw today.

Can the brits comment on this? What gives. I know that gray's and black and etc are THE colors of choice in the UK, but on a Ferrari all the time?

Many owners in that part of London are expats; moneyed people from all corners of the world. The black Ferrari is just a colour trend, along with the black Range Rover, Porsche, Merc etc. And tinted "privacy" windows are de rigeur.

The metal in the NCP car parks in that area is even more impressive than on the street. I sometimes park in the Grosvenor Hill NCP and its choc full of Bentleys, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Lambo etc etc. Its one of the few public car parks I dont mind parking the Ferrari in as its probably the cheapest car in there!

Most exotics in the world are in London... I thought the colour trend these days were white... thats what it is in Asia :p.

Come back during the summer, loads of UAE royals and rich people come over with their supercars.

Yep, I was staying at Groversner House right on Hyde Park and also noticed the exotic car dealers there. People park their exotics on the street there like any random car.
