Hello, does anyone know if any particular care or product application protocol should be employed on the leather interiors in order to preserve the leather?

Any particular products, timing, application protocols, etc..?

    Thanks!

Use a damp microfiber towel wipe all areas down. It’s really all you should need to maintain. For cleaning products, use Aenso Core or P&S interior. NO NEED for any conditioners as the leather is already coated from factory so conditioners do nothing. If you want to go to top level, ceramic coat it after perfectly clean. And again, just maintain with damp microfiber, especially once ceramic coated.

First I crouch down to grab my rag in the classic "naked terminator" pose. With my eyes closed I crouch there for a minute, visualizing Arnold and I start to hum the terminator theme. Then I rise up and open my eyes wide open. It helps to proceed through my day as an emotionless, cyborg badass. But there's one huge problem. If the armor all runs down my terminator leg. It ruins my fantasy and I can't get hard again.

There is ZERO need for leatherique on a new F8– use things like that for restoring old, dry cracked leather etc…. As I said, do NOT condition new/reasonably recent leather…. Clean and care as I stated above.

I agree with Todd on the damp microfiber cloth and the leather being coated from the factory already. I never put anything on my leather other then wipe it down. My opinion is most leather products are a topical slime/goo that just makes the leather shiny/oily. I never own a car long enough for anything to happen to the leather anyways. My car(s) never really sit out in the sun for long and I have an HVAC controlled garage I keep at 65-70 degrees and 40% RH.

If the leather is shiny/oily looking, that is not clean leather which has a matte finish, similar as what comes from the factory.

That's correct.... if it's shining, it's dirty.... the two products (among others) that I listed will leave the leather matte and clean-- you can just use a microfiber to wipe it in or detail brushes and then wipe off with clean one.... BUT if it's dirty dirty and needs more aggressive techniques, you can use a magic eraser or a non scratch scotch brite (blue) pad... be careful with both of these as they are abrasive... wipe lightly in one direction, straight lines with plenty of product... then wipe off with clean micro.... the shine will be gone and the leather will be new feeling, smelling and looking.

Was a figure of speech. Regardless, I don't use any products on my leather.

You should really only have to use product on the steering wheel, arm rest on door panel and seat bolster…. Just once in a while . The rest of the areas will be fine and clean with the damp microfiber

The age of the car has less to with the condition of the leather than the use of the car. You can have a 2 year old car with leather not in factory condition if you drive it a lot. I've had 15 year old Ferrari's with leather that looked brand new because they were low mileage cars and newer ones with considerably more miles but the leather looked far older. It all comes down to use, not age.

I always use a protective plastic film to protect and preserve .
    Read your history books.
Remember when your mother would buy the nice shiny clear plastic covers to protect the new sofa.
I used to love the way my legs would stick to the plastic film during the summers when I was wearing shorts
