Black stuff on frame of car rustproofing?

    I was under the car doing some work and using brake cleaner to clean some engine parts and noticed that this black all over the underside of the car was getting goopy and coming off revealing the clean painted frame underneath. Is this black oil build up (car did have oil leak) or is it some sort of undercoat.

    It's undercoat. Brake cleaner takes off anything. Re coat it.

    It's called Dinol. It is an undercoating that is two part application and non hardening. Won't chip off like other types but will disolve in almost any petrochemical. Don't continue to wipe it off.
