I need a new phone and am ready to enter the 21st century and get a device with email, web, full keyboard, etc. Have a 3 year old razor now. I am a corporate Verizon customer and not ready to switch, so an iPhone is not an option. I am trying to decide between the Storm 2 and the Droid. I have been told that a novice like myself would find the Storm easier to use. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

I amt typing this on a droid. For email I prefer the bb curve. If you want a fast iphone the droid.

I can type much faster and easier on the bb.

I gave my kids my iphone, and will probably give them the droid.

I prefer two phones, one for web and email, one for talking.

I've never really used a BB Storm, but have had my Droid for a week.

I have no problems using either keyboard on the droid. The virtual is quick, responsive and easy to use (unlike reviews about it). The hard keyboard takes some getting use to. I use the virtual one most. Keep in mind though, my fingers are long and skinny. So it's easier for me to use than most others.

Go to the store and test both of them out.

My girlfriend has had the Storm 1 for just about a year, and both of my parents just got the Storm 2. I do not have any experience with the Droid.

That said, the new Sure-press on the Storm 2 is excellent, and the rest of the phone is improved in pretty much every way. There is going to be a learning curve with the Storm, but once you get over that, BB OS 5 is very easy to use. Very customizable, there is an app for just about anything, many of them free.

Granted, my mom has had to get a replacement Storm 2 because of some random bug, and my parents, while they have been getting used to the new phones, have locked them up occasionally, requiring pulling the battery to reset, so the experience has not been perfect.

Thanks for the response. I should have added that I do very little texting, and the primary reason I'm interested in a smart phone is for email and the web. The feature I like most about the BB is you can zoom in the screen much larger than the Droid. I don't like to wear glasses while using my phone, and with the Droid I'm afraid I will have to use readers to read the text.

My Dad was able to change the font size on his BB to where he can read his emails on it without his readers.

Obviously you already know you can zoom in on the browser.

Both options end up being lots of scrolling, but it may be worth it to you to not need readers.

Have had experience with the Storm, and am staying far away from it as possible.

A friend of mine just got the Storm 2 and she hates it. I messed with it a bit and don't care for it much either. She's waiting for the Apple/AT&T Iphone monopoly is over so she can get one with Verizon. I'm waiting for that too, I'm not a huge AT&T fan, myself.

You can change text size from what I understand. I don't use the email client so I don't have first hand experience.
