Probably not the best place to ask, but you never know.

I run a small business and have about 40 people on a BB Company data plan that expires on November.
Up to now everything worked well but the IT guy said that we need to upgrade our Windows NT platform to 8.X and also change a server.
So after some negotiations we have a very generous offer from the local Microsoft rep. that includes 50 windows phones (Nokia Lumia) and a full interface with the new server.

Personally I don't give a s*** about what phones and software we will be using as my needs are very basic.

But also I do not want to deal with dissapointed salesmen and middle management that will blame their equipment for every possible reason.

    So the question is:
Does anyone here use windows phone and tablet for his everyday tasks and how easy this transition was from other platforms?

Problems? pros or cons from a user point of view?

Thank you very much for your kind attention.

Mods feel free to delete if not a valid subject.

I'd go with the Windows phones, Blackberry is all but dead at this point.

The Windows phones will work well with the Exchange server your IT guy is likely setting up. He'll probably have a few headaches but from the user perspective it should be just a manner of getting their mailboxes properly transferred over and their phones setup.

From a user stand point I'd wager the pros being that their phones, tablets, laptops, etc all feel and function the same (since it sounds like you are migrating to Win 8.x). Cons being they will need time to get used to the new interfaces.

As far as blame for equipment, speaking as both an IT admin and user, stuff is getting so good these days that the excuse of "I didn't get that email" really isn't valid anymore.

    Thanks for the input.
It seems that MS is having a very stable environment with the new platform and is very eager to be established into corporate communications.
They sweetened the deal yesterday offering a 5 hour seminar for "new" users that will explain and demonstrate the platform to every user.
I am very tempted on this transition, as it looks like they provide good support on this.

I have a Lumia 920 (windows 8.1) through my office and it is the only phone that I have liked in in over a decade. The phone part works well. Texting is a great. Integration with Outlook works well.

From a Blackberry the windows 8.1 phones will be a huge step up in form and function.
